Ayoo, pumped. Hope Adesanya knocks/chokes Poatan out tbh just so we have more drama. Would be boring if Izzy lost.
Having said that, I've got
Poatan KO
Burns sub
Font by KO
Holland decision
Rosas JR sub
Curtis decision
Karate Hottie by punching air for 15 minutes
Pyfer KO
Great card btw

No WMMA on the main card?

Picks:
Izzy
Masvidal
Yanez
Holland
Rosas
Gastelum
I think Izzy wins by decision. He has been the better fighter in every fight but is 0-3 lol. It's crazy. Alex is looking faster and more powerful than ever on embedded. The guy might just have Izzy's number. I'd say it's around 60/40 Izzy.
I mostly go with my gut when picking and not betting. I've got a strange feeling that Masvidal is gonna pull it off. When the fight was announced, I thought it was another terrible style for him. Now I think he will catch Burns at some point.
2/3 years ago I'd have picked Font but he's getting old and is rather chinny. He's a big step up in competition for Yanez tho.
Holland will probably find a KO.
Gastelum has let me down several times throughout his career. We go again. I don't really rate Curtis but he has legit power.

Mirin picks brahs, I might throw a 10 on masvidal for the lulz.
Also lol, I had a dream last night volk was fighting pereira and ko'd him with a feint inside leg kick and right hellblow.

Izzy just needs to fight the way he did for 4 rds and then run in circles the last rd to win back the championship. Even if Alex clipped him a couple times in the 5th, it probably won’t mean much since Izzy was still on his feet weaving and it was an early stoppage by ref the last fight.

PoatanTKO. I feel he kicks it up a gear in this fight and looks to finish it earlier. RD 3 TKO.
BurnsSub. Hes just got more in the tank than mas. It'll be fun for the first 5 minutes, then Burns will take over and finish him late in the second.
YanezTKO. I'd of picked Font in a heartbeat awhile back to take this by decision, but I'm just not sure about him anymore. Lets see if Yanez can pull it off. RD2 TKO.
Rosas JrSub. Gonna be an early night for Rodriguez. Rosas ends this in the first by submission.
HollandTKO. I like Ponzi. I think hes a good fighter but he just can't seem to figure it out or something. I think Holland finds the KO in RD2.
Gastelum Dec. Dunno about this one. I'm guessing Curtis is the fav in this fight? Not looked at any odds yet. I know Kelvin has lost 3?4? straight but he just doesn't go away, think takes this by split decision.

Given how super rare it is for a former champ to win an immediate rematch, how Alex is a stylistic nightmare for Izzy (crazy power, crazy durable, crazy size), and how Alex is 3-0 against Izzy, I can’t pick against Alex.
I also think he is a couple years into his MMA training, and getting better / more comfortable as an MMA fighter. So look for him to be more aggressive, and I think he TKO’s Izzy in R3.
Masvidal got really lucky with his timing during his rise to title fights with his wins over washed Till, Diaz, Cerrone, Ellenberger, Pearson, and Askren. The combined record of his last 6 wins is like 7W-30L including and since their Masvidal fight. Burns wins this R2 via GNP ref stoppage.

UFC set to debut new curved glove design at UFC 287 in effort to reduce eye poke fouls:

He is an entertaining fighter / personality / story, but his record is not impressive.

He puts on entertaining fights and can sell ppvs. He's a fan favorite
Even if he wasn't he doesn't deserve to be cut for losing to the top guys recently. His record sucks because of his lack of focus early in his career
He's always been talented. Not trying to nuthug him, but I love watching that guy fight srs
A lot of his losses are close split decisions to high ranked fighters / champs

I think the odds are kind of insane. Masvidal is always a threat to hurt his opponent and I think he can hurt Burns.

Also "fight" against Askren was a joke, and Diaz is not a serious opponent.

If Masvidal beats Burns it will be a KO from some absolutely assbackwards lucky swing. 90/10 for Burns. Wil probably sub him in the first half.
Izzy should get the belt back. I say 70/30. Hopefully he doesn't pull an Usman and gets completely lost. A decision.
80/20 for Rosas. I think it might be a KO.
60/40 for Holland to KO.

Might be wrong but I remember seeing a statistic saying the ex champs are something like 60 or 70% likely to lose the rematch so I don't have high hopes for Izzy even with the freudian slip at the presser saying "I'll put him on his back..."

I separate Izzy from his fashion sense. I mostly just like how he fights
His fighting style outweighs anything he does outside of the cage for me

Yeah no doubt Mas is always dangerous, his striking is nice, but I think Burns will take the gas out of him right quick and take over fairly quickly.
