What is the best way to win against bigger and heavier guys?

For those of you that spar MMA and do it, what are the weak spots of someone bigger and heavier that a smaller opponent can capitalize on?

Just how much of a difference does a skill gap make if one guy is 5'11 and 170 and the other is 6'4 and 300+ lbs?

Lol, unless there is a MASSIVE skill discrepancy, and by massive I mean along the lines of untrained newb big guy vs. very high level MMA, you "win" by not even engaging. Old bjj adage of 20lbs = one belt level is pretty accurate (yes, we have all seen instances where it isnt, but spare me the outliers). 5'11" and 170 is far too lanky to even begin to overcome an over 130lb weight disadvantage and 5" reach.

So you are telling me that an NFL lineman can probably beat Colby Covington or GSP in a fight?

your only hope really is just hoping they gas out, so alot of running and evading

130+ lbs is a huge disadvantage unless you are a professional MMA fighter vs some random. if they aren't trained to take it to the liver, chin and shins that could be an avenue.

nah big guys who don't know how to fight is pretty common.

very slow and easy to avoid their strikes.

very easy to get in and out.

Don't get into fights with bigger guys, or don't get into fights, period.

If you unavoidably find yourself in a fight with a bigger guy, remove all bets. Take it the ground and use BJJ if you are trained since that will negate a bit of size and strength advantage. And fight as dirty as possible: Gouge eyes, stomp his kneecap into pieces, hit him in the balls as hard as you can, or use a weapon.

As soon as you can, run.

It's a very chit situation to be in.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Lol, I know and train with plenty of big guys who can fight.

Small, medium, large, don’t matter. Equal number of guys who know phuk all about fighting. If you are 170lbs and willfully engage with a 300lb dude, you are a moron. Yes, you are likely faster, so use that speed to GTFO of there.

Physics is still physics, and big dudes have more advantages than smaller guys. Weight classes are there for a reason, and given two dudes of equal skill (or lack there of), the big dude wins more often.

This gets exponentially greater when talking about the original scenario of a much taller 300lb dude against a lanky 170 dude.

I seriously need to quit getting sucked into these troll threads, lol.

most of the time you are right.

all depends on who the fighters are.

ive done muay thai all my life. trained with legit 140lb pros. they wipe the floor with 200+ guys easily.

A good professional fighter will wipe the floor with an untrained guy obviously.

But the sort of people who ask these questions are not good pros are they.

If you have to ask the question "how do I beat a bigger guy", here's my answer.

Don't fight him, because even though smaller guys can sometimes beat bigger guys, YOU probably can't.
