Volk on 11 days notice after coming off surgery? He should've waited and done it properly. Probably getting paidddd tho. Same with Usman.

The replacement fights are great on paper but the short notice puts them at a massive disadvantage.

It's a shame the original fights fell through. I was looking forward to those way more tbh.

Agreed.

Volk has been in feather mode for awhile now, expecting a fight with Topuria. Now on 11 days notice hes trying to shift back to LW mode. I'd of enjoyed seeing this fight much more if Volk had a full camp.

Also would have rather seen Rob vs Borz instead of martynokneesman

I think volk can potentially beat him this time. Islam can't finish him, and volk was doing well in the last few rounds of their last fight.

Also, I think chamzat can win vs useman if it's under 4 rounds. If it goes to 4 or 5, he will tire out and lose. He has trouble catching weight, and his endurance has been a problem in the past.

What's the odds of just ML? I like the Islam Chimaev Walker combo but will acknowledge the disrespect put on Usman & Volk. Volk short notice & Islam with a full recovery time will be a different beast. If he decides to throw leg kicks from the distance this time, he will at the very least pull of a convincing 4-1 or 5-0 decision if not a sub. His stand-up is severely underrated.

Usman is the most likely to pull off a win followed by Walker and I'd be shocked if Volk finishes Islam.

Surprised that everyone bets against Usman. The guy was unbeatable before that lucky KO by Edwards, and that was just 14 months ago. He wasn't bad in the rematch either, only lost by a majority decision. But everyone thinks he has no chance against a guy who struggled against Gilbert Burns and hasn't fought for a year.

i'm surprised how much ppl are saying it's a done deal, but i still favor khamzat


the 2nd usman vs colby should have been a draw, and getting koed like that then losing a 5 round war... 36 yrs and injury prone his whole career.. makes me favor khamzat

I watched it back and can confirm. I'd say Islam won 2 rounds out of 5, Volk won 1 out of 5 and the remaining were questionable depending on what you look for. I wouldn't have minded a draw but can see the argument for 4-1 Islam.

Volk mentioned he was a little too timid the first time around so maybe now that he has nothing to lose, he comes out swinging rd 1 & 2. If anyone chooses Volk, it wouldn't be a bad idea to sprinkle some on rd 2 KO volk. Otherwise I'd take Islam by sub or dec.

Volk outstruck Islam too. Islam's most significant moments in the fight were a few takedowns and hugging volk on the ground, one or two sub attempts iirc

Volk won if you score based on damage / sig strikes. it's nonsense to say "Volk was beaten in every aspect"

if you score fights how they're supposed to be scored, Volk won but it was close
