Weidman is a horrible fighter these days. Unreal how much he's fallen. Gotta think he's been a casualty of increased PED testing put in place years ago.

Good fight by Weidman, thought he looked completely gassed at the end of the 2nd round and oddsmakers agreed, Ahkmedov was -215 and Weidman was +195 live at that point.

Weidman got a good takedown early in the 3rd round and Ahkmedov couldn't get him off and that was that.

I figured Ahkmedov would be better on the feet, and I think he was, and I thought Weidman due to age, damage, and cutting from 205 to 185 wouldn't have enough in the tank.

Ultimately Ahkmedov's takedown defense wasn't good enough, cost him the 1st and 3rd rounds, and apparently two judges thought the 3rd was a 10-8.

If they'd stayed on feet in the 3rd I don't know how many more shots Weidman could have taken.

He does the hold a little differently as a choke/crank. Had he used the hold as a chest compression submission there is no way Lewis could have lasted as long as he did.

In order to use it as a chest compression you have to float your hips and drive your weight into the sternum thus driving the air out of the lungs of your opponent and making it impossible for them to inhale.

Oleinik keeps his butt of the ground while using the hold so he must exert lots of force to squeeze instead of leting his own weight do the work for him.
