I'm so giddy over the fact we may have a new Anderson Silva, prime Silva was amazing, imagine taking brazillian Ronaldo, Pele and Zidane and combining them into a single person, they'd still be mediocre and pedestrian to prime Anderson Silva.

putting fights like this on the main card is a thumbs up for me compared to putting wmma on the main card and forcing me to take a long bathroom break or find another way to waste 15-20 mins

Idk man, he beat Brunson. His first real finish. And I chose Israel to win anyways

Watch his fights with Vettori and Tavares. I think Israel lacks the power/finishing ability to consistently be at the top of MW, and to have expectations of becoming anything comparable to Anderson or Jones

He has greatly improving tdd, but I still think the larger wrestlers get him down if they want to. We haven't seen Brunson wrestle in what seemed like forever, and he showed tonight that he just doesn't have that skill like some thought he would

MW is weakening very fast, but if he sees a Romero, Whittaker, Weidman, maybe Luke any time soon I think he takes the L. Gas probably starches him too, and Costa would even have a good chance

I actually think he'll be in the predicament that Gus is currently in. Hoping to decision a guy like Jones. That's a tough gameplan; you need real power

nice to see branch fighting with some urgency. hes had some tough breaks in the UFC after running things in the lesser orgs for years. he had a good fight lined up with jacare that would advance his stock, but got switched out to cannonier who he really needs to steamroll to prove he is deserving of fighting up the rankings

edit: yep...branch just isnt that good. hes got no explosion to make exiting finishes and tires quickly. sub par striking...no wonder the UFC brass just never got behind him
