UFC 296 has been mostly chit. What a terrible last fight of the year.

I just hope Leon doesn't just hold the belt until the and fight again in like December of next year. Feed the dude to Shavkat, the dude is obviously the next champion if Khamzat doesn't come back to the welterweight division.

Yeah Usman was actually exciting to watch looking back at it. It seems like Colby vs Usman 1 took everything out of Colby. He never fought with the same pace and aggression ever again.

I would bet he's not getting enough exposure to that caliber of opponent or situation in camp. He's at some smaller camp now, so then you get into that spot for real and you freeze.

Even trump was cringing. When the camera panned to him when colby was running his mouth sucking him off he just had an awkward smirk on his face wishing it would be over.

sad part is that colby can beat leon. if he had done what he did in 4 and 5 for the whole fight, it would have been similar to what usman did in his first fight with leon. masvidal was a more damgerous finisher than edwards yet colby went at him non stop

instead colby waited until his leg got battered to finally show up

hopefully it was just ring rust

now we are going to have to wait for an extended period of time before leon fights again and it is going to be against fukkin belal. welterweight is the worst division in the ufc right now

`I do actually believe some of it may have been ring rust. But he fought a bit similarly against Usman in their 2nd fight. He was a bit scared of Usman's power so fought timidly for the first 2 rounds. If he had fought like the last 3 rounds he would have been the champion. IDK if he's scared of BBC power or something bc you're right he didn't fight that way against Masvidal who is a more dangerous fighter in terms of KO power. but Leon Edwards is more longer, quicker and technical and maybe that threw off Colby? He let his leg get beat up which was a huge mistake which could have limited his output. But from the get go he was getting backed up instead of trying to relentlessly push the pace as he usually does.

At this point he is 35, will likely take a year off. Not going to say his chances are completely gone but they seem to be fading. You got Shavkat and Khamzat as well.
