Probably because with that heel hook Peña initiated offering it up in order to sweep/go to the back so it probably doesn’t get scored as well as if Nicky advanced for it.

The "Aggressor"? That's very arguable. The dude was running away the entire match. Body lock, pena defends, pull out and try to reset to another body lock... His straight ankle and toe hold attempts were garb. He did make pena hand fight to defend one of the heel hooks. Pena had the best JIU JITSU of the match. His back take attempts were good. Pena probably had the best series of the event. Nicky constantly stalled.

I personally had Nicky winning BUT not remotely surprised if it went either way. I think the deciding factor was that there was nothing pushing it one way or another, so **** it give it to Pena to keep the Gordon v Pena idea alive. If Nicky wins, cant really make that match again. LOL @ Nicky greasing though, hilarious.
