I know nothing about this shit but his answer defies what I think is logical lol. 200k could easily be squandered or someone that knows what they’re doing could turn it into way more. A house is kind of limited? Again I don’t know shit. The 200k is extra haha he was always going to make those payments before he ran into that money so he can treat it like extra income and do what he wants with it. Again this is my own logic and im a broke person haha

Mathematically sure being leveraged and investing in stocks and just making the mortgage payment would net you much higher returns but it ignores the real world behaviors of a lot of people I mean most boomers have their net worth from their house and 401k most of these people were not investment gurus, a 100 IQ 5/10 Timothy is just going to spend any money that is too liquid

but there's this ongoing debate if you have 200k for example. and you have a 3% loan on your house. do you put 200k towards your house or invest it in the stock market. the math says the stock market and Ramsey just refuses to accept that it's the right move to put it in the market even though all historical data says so.
