Final round interview @ Morgan Stanley - Going to act like an alpha sick kunt Chad
Picture Harvey Specter in Suits. Natty me hasn't worked so far. So I am going to take a huge risk as a social experiment next Thursday
Cliffs:
- OP decides to give IB one last go after applying for their early bird programme for next intake
- OP currently happy in Consultancy job and has little stress in life but been invited for an interview with MS
- In past, OP has never been offered a full time IB job, only internships in IB, as well as CF and Audit
- OP thinks it may be because of beta nerdy personality. So has nothing to lose when putting on Chad confidence/attitude in a 1-to-1 with MD
- If OP gets job then pay rise, bigger company, move to Central London, get the job he's been trying for 3-4 years. If not, the dream was already given up on and life is very content ATM
Examples of things OP will do:
- Borrow dad's AMG Mercedes 2-seater sports SL63 and park in one of the top bankers spots to get respect/attention as he walks through doors (nothing creates a buzz more than your floor Mirin' you hard)
- When MD welcomes OP in and asks if he wants a glass of water, reply with "I'd prefer a Brandy, but I'll settle for water
" and give MD a cheeky kent wink
- Spend the majority of the interview connecting with the MD over sports/travelling/freedom thought I.e. What would be the best country in the world to open up a beach bar? And dig into the deep economics of it from CAPEX to profitability
- At the end of the interview, Morgan Stanley always ask what is the biggest risk you've taken, most daring/brave thing you've ever done - something to that effect. My reply will be:
Helping to deliver a baby in Tanzania is probably number 3. Escaping a Grizzlie attack in Canada most likely number 2. But the most daring thing I will actually do is about to happen right now. I have a proposition for you. I will play either yourself, or anyone in your office, right here, right now, heads up in Texas Hold 'Em Poker. If I lose, I will sign a contract allowing you to blacklist me from all IBs in the world. If I win, I want a 15-year tenure job with a $10,000 signing on cheque on top of the existing package. Do we have a deal Mr MD?
What do you think about this idea Misc? More than likely I am not getting in natty. So I am literally thinking about IRL saying: Fake it until you make it!

You seriously want me to go in like every other interview I've been to and have them know in the first 40 seconds that it's not me they're picking for the job?

You probably aren't going to get the job . I wouldn't even go if I was you. If you're really welsh and an autistic you definitely won't get the job
Well f*ck it, what it look like?

You ever think...idk...they want to hire someone that will be a high performer instead of someone that just makes a bunch of cheesy jokes and is annoying as hell?

He's watching to see if women approach you at the bar. If they do, you're Chad and he'll hire you. If not...

3. Deadliftbrah
4. GMiscer
