UK Brahs, would hot meat pies sell well in corner shops over there?

I have been to the UK a bunch of times, and one thing you boyos need is a pie warmer and a nice selection of pies. With your cold weather i was shocked and appaled to find the only savoury food you could get in your corner shops was a cold sandwich out of the drinks fridge if you are lucky



One of you over there could get rich off introducing these

It's flaky pastry and designed to be eaten by hand

Uk pies are usually shortcrust pastry which is vile, full of gravy so not edible by hand, and horrid flavours, (no steak and cheese wtf bro)

These pies are massive in Australia, you get them at every single dairy (corner shop) and gas station in the country

It's true, Greggs is a chain and pretty much the McDonalds of pie shops in the UK.

However there are still plenty of small independent bakeries/butchers dotted across most towns, with their wares sold in local shops.

Even the local 24/hr mini-mart ran by Indonesian Muslims sell the local pies.

Only reason Greggs was cited was to show how large the demand for pies are in this country.

Well this must be a recent thing because i've been to the uk several times including for a 2 month stretch as recently as 2014 and i never saw on hot food item in any single dairy i ever went to.

also greggs sell "slices" whatever they are, not pies

There is actually one aussie/kiwi pie manufacturer in the uk
Kiwi pies a winner in UK

Mr Liddicoat, who has lived in the UK since 2006, set up the New Zealand Gourmet Pie Company last year because he saidBritish pies were rubbish.

"I guess you could say, just like rugby,the Poms invented pies but were rubbish at doing it," he said.

"When we were developing the product in the UK, our baker struggled to get the pastry correct, so my dad Dave asked Bryan for a recipe, which he emailed to me.

When Mr Liddicoat was home in Gore earlier this year, he went to visit Mr Hodges, who showed him the bakery and gave tips on how to make the perfect pies.

My town in particular is well known for it's pie industry.

Local bakeries making anything from Cornish Pasties to Chicken Curry pies.

By the way - that Kiwi twat you quoted up there ^^ he knowsfuk allabout proper British pies.

He is referring to Greggs or Waterfields (mainstream chains).

Proper British pies use what's called a 'hot water' pastry, and their recipes are typically over 100yrs old.

Don't try to tell the British about pies m8.

Sounds good but the pub I refer to has no kitchen/dining area.

It's an old school country pub and they sell pre-baked pies delivered from a local butchers that only make one type of pie from an age-old recipe.

Pies are the only food they sell.

They are handed over in a paper bag along with a pint of real ale.

Tons of places sell warm pies, it's definitely not a 'recent' thing, but sure you know more about UK because you've been there than people who live here. Ight bro.

Infact, on my 25 minute commute to work there's at least 5 places (including a petrol station) that sell warm pies.

You think because you've stayed in the UK a few times you know more than people who live here.

Warm pies are not a 'niche' market, and you can get a warm pie in pretty much any town in the UK. Not always in 'corner shops', but there will be somewhere nearby where you can get one.
