Life Lessons From Reading Fiction - Please post your recommendations

Today I finished the first book of fiction that I actually got life lessons from. First time it happened, and now I understand what people mean when they say they've gotten life lessons from reading fiction now.

The book was:Stoner By John Williams.

An unremarkable life, filled with love, loss, cowardice, courage, victories, defeats, failures and successes.

"You must remember what you are and what you have chosen to become, and the significance of what you are doing. There are wars and defeats and victories of the human race that are not military and that are not recorded in the annals of history. Remember that while you're trying to decide what to do."

I'm curious what fiction books you guys have read that have provided you with life lessons?

Warhammer 40k for the most part is very well written and along with lord of the rings analogy of the slow death of European culture against the hordes of chaos and corruption

Pretty surface level chit but I can remember when I was reading LOTR for the first time, my friend was going through a tough time personally and reading the words “'I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.” (obviously also being a big line in the film) totally switched my mindset in terms of how to help him. I didn't try solve his problem myself or tell him how, I was just there for him and helped him through it.
I only know my own ideas of other peoples ideas.

Lord Of The Rings.... I've heard that a lot of people have gotten life lessons from that book. I need to get round to reading the trilogy.

i stopped reading
fiction when i started
to investigate the propability
of aliens living in my butthol
and i started the fisting habit
gaping my butthole day and night
and yet no aliens.
