Everyone Monitored, All The Time - Our Possible Future

Corporations investing heavily in tech to monitor workers movements and actions...

"They know we are always watching, which is good."

China is just ahead of the curve. The West rolling out the same tech just at a slower rate, due to a cultural attachment to liberty and privacy.

Video showing what is happening in China...

How Data is used for marekting and social engineering (the person in the video is not against it, he's literally bragging)...

Facial recognition software, Smartphones, Alexa, Google Echo, biometric scanners, 4G and 5G, Wifi, Thermal cameras, Software that records screens and keystrokes, etc didn't exist in the past.

I found that people who make your argument tend to do it to support apathy. "It's already happening so I'm not willing to give up the convenience of Wifi, my Smartphone, or Alexa."

You can secure wifi and that's not the problem. Just be careful about what you attach to your network. I'd never have an Alexa in my house and my "smart tv" isn't allowed to connect to the internet. I use a Nvidia shield for all apps.

I was shocked when they had facial recognition technology to let me pass through the gate from my flight from JFK to LGW.... Not like customs letting you out of the airport because thats been there for a while, but to board the flight.

Guaranteed that monitoring technology is being used way more than they are telling us. The other day, a couple of malls in my hometown were caught using facial recognition without the public's consent.

The next phase of the Technological Surveillance state. The first phase was mass surveillance of our online activity, that's largely been achieved.

Now it's it's monitoring us outside and inside our homes, which is in the process of happening.

The correct question is, what arewegoing to do about it?

Because one person can't do anything against it.

But I don't think you have a problem with it, seeing as you openly support and defend the Australian government's Authoritarian polices and treatment of your fellow citizens in 2020.

You can always unplug. Get rid of your computer, smart phone, internet, google/********/instagram/snapchat/etc. No Alexa. No smart TV. Buy an older car with less technology. Move from a city into the country. Etc.

People saturate their lives with technology then complain when said technology monitors them for marketing purposes.

At the height of Covid I went visit my father (Lives in a smaller town of just a few thousand people). No lock downs. Nobody wearing masks. Nobody talking about Covid. Etc. Its like people there were completely unaware there was a pandemic or lock-downs. People out there are just farmers/commercial fishermen and country people. Completely unsaturated by technology or what's going on in the world. 0 fukks given. And the town didn't even have issues with covid.

Again, I don't know why you are directing that towards me, and why you seem to be assuming that I haven't done some of those things.

You don't need to be anti-tech to be against mass surveillance. You can use the internet whilst using a VPN and anti-tracking broswers for example, which screws up data tracking. I don't use a smartphone, and nor do I use Wifi (every time you sign in to a wifi it makes a track of where you phone is, which is public viewable on sites like wiggle.net ).

Props to that town.

No, it's whatWecan do. Like I said, one person can't do anything. One person refusing to give away their data, and use tracking tech won't do anything. The masses doing it will.

I've answered multi times, I'm pretty sure in threads that you were a part of. I also think you've asked this question before to me, or others. So I thought you were just trolling.

In case you weren't...

Get rid of your smartphone, buy a flipphone and/or leave your flipphone off most of the time.
Use Ethernet instead of WIFI (WIFI logs your location ever time you sign in, and is publicly available on site like wiggle.net)
Do not own/use Alexa, Google Echo or Google Nest (which has a mic inside).
Use Anti Tracking Browsers, and always refuse everything but necessary cookies. I recommend AVG browser or Vivaldi. I use Vivaldi.
Use a VPN (I recommend VPN Express).
Refuse to have/use biometric ID/sign in.
Don't use Smart Technology.

^^^ All things I do.

Things we can do...

Demand legislation against 5G. Which is necessary infrastructure for mass surveillance.
Demand legislation against Facial recognition cameras and Smart sensors in cities (already banned in some states in the US).
Demand the break up of Big Tech companies.
Demand legislation against intelligence communities and corporate mass surveillance, and data brokering.

some of these are okay, some are just larping or pointless. overall, doesnt really affect the thesis of the thread since we are already 'monitored '

I don't think you watched the videos, or read my posts ITT properly.

We aren't under mass surveillance yet, we are moving in that direction though, more and more. I've already said that ITT.

We are not living under a mass surveillance state yet, but it can happen. I don't think you would mind though, so I don't know why you are even asking for solutions?

it cant be stopped. you guys that keep saying this stuff are like pagan larpers. going off grid, or using ethernet is not going to stop anything. you need to offer how to live with it, not to get rid of it. me recognising this is not apathy, its being honest.

That just means submitting to it. Living with it = accepting Authoritarianism like you do. Most of us do not want to live in a society like that.

If you haven't done a web search for solutions and way to fight against tech surveillance, big tech, and authoritianism, IMO that would be a good place for you to start if you are genuinely looking into this.

To answer where to move... A number of developing nations simply don't have the funding the the accelerated mass rollout of 5G that the US, AUS, UK, etc are embarking on. If you do a websearch for say Mexico, 5G rollout is massively lagging behind the US, so there is a lot of time in developing nations where the infrastructure won't be set up.

Best for people to do their own research, and not rely on being spoonfed though. Especially when thinking about moving to another country.

The less people use the tech, the less data they can gather, so I don't understand why you say things akin to 'preventing them from gathering data, won't stop them from gathering data', because that is completely irrational.

The less people use the tech, the less data they can gather, so I don't understand why you say things akin to 'preventing them from gathering data, won't stop them from gathering data', because that is completely irrational.
using brave isnt going to stop anything bro. you wont expat and theyll get the same tech later anyway

I don't think you've done enough research to realize just how far behind developing countries are in terms of tech outside of major cities. Have you done any research into 5G rollout, or even 4G coverage in developing nations?

Again... you say things akin to 'preventing them from gathering data, won't stop them from gathering data', because that is completely irrational. Preventing them from gathering data, will prevent them from gathering data... How can you claim that it won't?
