Your thoughts on weightlifting hooks for wrists

Doing RDLs yesterday and I thought I could do more, but my grip started to fail.
Hooks would help, but there may be something to be said for gaining grip strength.
What say you, o misc? Do you recommend or not?

I use 2" wide straps on the working sets. It's like seatbelt material, just two 2 ft lengths.

Mega cheap, will never break and if you need to drop it, unravels instantly.

Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

Use them, or just get versa grips. They're just as good and not as silly looking.

Don't let your grip become the limiting factor for back/leg work. Do what you need to do for back/legs, and then train the grip separately if you need it for strength/power.

edit: and think about this - you need grip strength for max reps (assuming you're interested in lifting for sport). But you could deadlift 600 pounds for one and not lose your grip, and still struggle to hold onto 315 for a set of 12 because of the time under tension. So like I said, build the back/legs by making them the limiting factors, and then train grip separately.

The hooks are ok, but straps are better. I've used both. The straps give you a little more freedom of movement on your wrist angle and sometimes you want that. Also, with straps you still work your grip a little bit.

Plus the straps can double for the bedroom. nomsayin?

Thanks y'all. The hooks seem easier to use, but I'm going to do comparison shopping now. My ass is going to be amazing.
