Is there any point in being a nice person anymore?

If you're nice, you are looked as a pushover.

Nope.

The win-win formula is to be Nice but Arrogant which means basically chill and sloots love chill guys.

Rude + arrogant = looking like an insecure retard

Nice + cautious about not looking like a dick = looking like an insecure retard but even worse than the above, since while being rude it means at least you try to respect yourself.

Just be confident. There is a difference between a confident man, and an arrogant douche.

It requires discernment. For example, if I am at the gym using a piece of equipment and step away for a moment and there is someone else using the equipment then I generally respond in one of three ways:

1) if they are older than me and appear clueless then I just move on to a different exercise - no point in even informing them and making them feel bad

2) if they are younger than me and appear to have made a mistake then I assertively say: 'you can work in with me if you want'

3) if they appear to have done it on purpose - like for example, I had a towel around the lat pulldown as I step away for a moment, I come back and my towel is on the ground and someone is using the machine then I get in their face.

This is what is meant to be 'meek'. Meek is not weak. A meek person is someone who is willing to fight to the death for the right cause but will peaceably walk through the city with his sword in its sheath and not be quick to throw down.

Just know that your actions are contagious; a little compassion will make the world a better place, although there are some who do not deserve it and this is where your street smarts needs to be sharp.

i try to be nice

idc if ppl see me as a pushover

I push back if they are dicks

My philosophy is never start chit with anyone, but always be rdy to finish it. I'll never provoke ppl IRL (online is a different story), but if someone pisses me off, I will make sure they know lol.

This. I'd rather err on the side of being nice. Doesn't mean I let anyone take advantage of me.

Being nice in my opinion has an equivalence to kindness and being respectful. Both of which are not mutually exclusive to being a pushover.

Being a pushover is a crippling trait that can keep you from accomplishing anything because you're more concerned about hurting someone.

You can be both kind and respectful and still be very successful.

Not important. A 3-year-old is going to overstep and try to dominate everyone. Does this mean you need to avoid having children to stay strong? Coherent values allow development and value quality of life, not simply dominating as much as possible.

This focus on longevity of human life and well-being is one of the missing ingredients of many failed empires.

Oh, come on now Davik, we both know you're not being honest - you aren't really sorry.

This is just your misguided method of being 'nice'. Real men tell the truth and are unapologetic. You should try it sometime.

You should always treat people fairly. But you don’t owe it to random people to be nice to them

Really try to be nice to everyone. I'm happier when I treat others nicely, and almost everyone reciprocates. Occasionally, there are people who don't buy that's rare and for them I just stay as respectful as possible and minimize contact.

We live in an atomized, low-trust society. Looking out for anyone besides yourself goes unrewarded, and stepping on other people is often encouraged. There is no benefit in looking out for anyone besides #1.

The real strat to succeed in today's world is to be a narcissistic sociopath, and I am not being edgy, I am being 100% srs. You show me any rich, famous, or powerful person you want to name, and I'll very likely show you a guy with a cluster-B personality disorder. You look at some of the misc heroes for example - Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, Donald Trump, David Goggins, Arnold - all five of those dudes are narcissists. There's a chance that fawking Zeez was as well, but it's not as in-your-face-obvious as say Elon (Zyzz was clearly dysmorphic).

being nice does not mean being a pushover

there's no point in being a pushover but there's certainly a point to being respectable and respectful

I LOL at people who claim to live and follow the Holy life but will outright consider confrontation and violence as one of their options. Tells me you're one of those who use God or Religion to justify everything and make yourself feel progressive. The Godly thing to do would be to simply inform the person and either offer to work in or just say hey no problem, I'll come back to it later. because is a piece of gym equipment really worth getting into someone's face? Some of the most "religious" people I know are some of the most hot headed and quick to start sht people I know. I'd just tell them I was using it and if they wanna be oblivious then I'll just give them a hard stare down and move on with my workout, because that's what being graceful is about. LOL at talking about fighting to the death for a "cause" and your "cause" being someone took your gym spot.

Be polite to everyone but carry a big stick. If you are kind all of the time, people will think you're a pushover, if you are an a-hole all of the time, people resent you and are against you as it's a sign of insecurity. Either can be a sign of insecurity.. It's a balance and you have to maintain respect. Like Peterson said, be a monster but know how to control it. It all depends on to who and the situation.
