Misc Firearms Crew LXXXII: Stamp Collecting Brandon Style…Bracing for Ultra Amnesty
MFC RULES:
Rule 1: Don't come in here to troll or bash firearms owners. You will be swiftly negged.
Rule 2: Don't be afraid to ask questions, but do a little research on your own first. Semi-intelligent questions are welcome.
Rule 3: Do simply not ask what gun you should buy for concealed carry. That's very difficult to answer as individual needs & preferences vary greatly, and we're all tired of repeating ourselves. Do some research first, even just read MFC, or search gun forums for basic ideas.
Rule 4: DON'T BASH OTHER POSTERS ABOUT THEIR PURCHASES.
Rule 5: Do NOT link to any illegal firearms instructions or sites.
Rule 6: DO NOT THREATEN OTHER POSTERS.
RULES OF SAFE GUN HANDLING:
1. All guns are always loaded.
2. Do not allow the muzzle to point at anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until your sights are on the target.
4. Know your target and your backstop.

Good morning.
My woman bought me a surprise gift at a shooting range, with training included. I had never held a gun in my life, or fired one. These are the guns I got to try:
The Glock 17 was 'fine' - it felt 'reliable'. My teacher was a guy active in Germany's military - it took me a bit to get the stance right, sort of 'leaning' a little forward.
This felt a bit like a 'pea shooter'. I say this, because the gun after this was a Magnum - it could use two different kinds of ammunition, and I'm pretty sure that when I fired the .357 the "explosion" sound: (i) I went "woah"; (ii) the instructor came to me going "Right? *smile*" It was epic. I finally understood the phrase 'hand cannon'.
I also got to try this:
Which didn't feel "satisfying" to me. For accuracy/reliability, the Glock 17 felt 'good'. Maybe I'd like something with a bit more 'oomph'.
The Thompson - was a bit 'uncomfortable', I couldn't get the seat right. It was interesting to shoot an older weapon like this, but then I used:
Which was much easier (I don't recall the name of this one - I think it was Swedish?).
As was this:
Which felt so 'light' like shooting an airsoft gun.
It was a surprise gift, I had this adrenaline rush for days after. It was funny because just before this surprise gift, we were traveling in Utah and I saw a flyer at this diner to shoot all kinds of weaponry and my woman was going "no no! we uhh…we don't have time!" lol.
I am hooked!

Likely pin shooting tomorrow in PA with my two boys and FIL - will be the first time breaking in my Beretta 92x RDO compact. My first MD purchase, and first new firearm acquisition since probably 2008-2009 - can't wait.

In on first page!
I haven't taken many firearms pictures lately. This is it:
Tikka in a KRG Bravo, topped with a Bushnell LRTSi. It's off getting threaded for a suppressor at the moment, but I should have it back soon. Sadly, the suppressor is months away. As per usual, excuse the mess.

Yes, 1rd page!
My poverty ARs
I just got the Sig LPVO 1-9 for the long one and the old Romeo 5 for the pistol. I thought the Sig is ok for now as a beginner. I cant justify getting a scope more expensive than the AR itself for now lol.
I actually got a cheap 3-9 in a gunshow, I think brand is VISM but I have never tried it yet.
And my 3 babies:

still going to sell my last gun but this is what I would get if I was going to have one. You don't need 30 rounds. One shot, one kill.
edit: 1nd page. spot for sale: $200 and 436 day wait for approval.
