Interview for supervisor position next week

They saw my resume on Indeed and reached out, so I sent an app.

Misc, I've never led a group of people in my life. I don't know how I even got an interview. This would sadly be the best job I've ever had. It's doing data entry with basic accounting, audits, maintaining inv stocks, writing reports and announcements, coaching inhouse policies, planning my own work & occasionally for others, etc.

I know fuq all about accounting. Definitely studying a bit before the interview. lmao just lmao if I get the job.

make sure you not only study up on all the preferred skills listed in the job description but also your own resume...especially if you embellished some of your accomplishments. I use to be on a hiring committee and its an instant red flag when you ask them about a supposed skill they wrote on their resume and they can't even tell you anything about it.

1. Spend some time learning about it, and jot down ideas, questions, etc. (which I see you plan to do)
2. Learn a key skill-how to remain confident when you are outclassed in terms of what you know. Presentation and demeanor are as important as concepts and data.
3. Expect difficult left field questions and prepare answers
4. When asked if you have any questions, never say no. Ask stuff about current challenges, what the manager likes best about the company, new initiatives, and most importantly, ask “if you were to hire me today, in year, how would you know that I was the right pick”?

It should be worth noting that most people in supervisory/upper management positions don't know what the hell they're doing. Many are just winging it. You'll fit right in....and the absolute worst case scenario you crash and burn and they lay you off, you've now got the title ofACCOUNTING SUPERVISORas a job title you can add to your resume.

Dammit I will never promote to a supervisor role again, did it at Walmart; dealing with your own sht is easy, having to get other people to not be lazy fck ups is a whole new kind of stress. I get pissed enough when I get voluntold to supervise now, not worth it IMO.
