I think you could definitely build up a deep well of trust with someone, if you spent a lot of time with someone and went through a lot of experiences with them. In a non-romantic context, my dad went to testify in court on Christmas Eve for his high school buddy, who got caught up in a false child abuse claim (long story). Didn't ask for anything in return. Friendbrah had made enough "deposits in the bank" since the 1970s that he didn't feel it was necessary.

What I personally don't see, as an FA ****ot, is how you build up that level of trust with someone if you're both say around 30 and meeting on a dating app. The trust there is phuckin zero, cause you're both literally strangers. and it's all "what can you do for me." "Can you scratch my back". And if the guy can't, the woman just throws him back on the pile and grabs the next one. You never get a chance to build that trust, or build any kind of non-sexual relationship, because you really don't have the time. Infinite dikk supply from the app puts you on such a short leash.

In 2020s clown world, I honestly think you have to meet each other as like phuckin teenagers, early 20s at the latest, and grow up together to get that same kind of bond. You have to have a lot of time and go through a lot of shared experiences. Adult relationships of all stripes - work, friends after work, dating, anything - are just way too short term and transactional.
