George Soros Purchases Second-Largest Chain of Radio Stations

Billionaire and left-wing philanthropist George Soros has been buying up debt to acquire a controlling stake in the second-largest radio broadcaster in the country, Audacy.

Court filings and sources close to the situation told the New York Post that Soros Fund Management has “bought up $400 million of debt in Audacy — the No. 2 US radio broadcaster behind iHeartMedia with stations including New York’s WFAN and 1010 WINS, as well as Los Angeles-based KROQ, according to bankruptcy filings.”

Soros could than have control of more than 220 radio stations nationwide. One Republican insider close to the situation told the outlet that Soros could be trying to have media outlets to potentially influence public opinion during the 2024 election.

“This is scary,” the source said.

If we could only find a way to restrict maximum campaign donations/finances to limit the influence random billionaires with an extreme activist mindset to sway politics.

Right wingers must have got their marching orders today, we already did this thread at least once.

Also, George is looking like he might finally be old enough to run for President. Congrats to him.

Soros and his son are enemies of the entire world. Enemies.

For reference if his 25% stake in this company went to 100% and he ponied up to the 1.9billion in total debt and took absolutely everything in a business that was btfo by clear channel.

He would still have less than 1/4 of clear channels subsidiary iheartmedia reach.

I would be more worried about literally the entire publicly traded market and marching orders from vanguard/blackrock before worry about Soros throwing away half a billion.

Or in iheartmedia case look at Bain capital. Absolute scumbags.

Many people don’t realize that publicly traded companies are not capitalist. Because they are public, they fall under the category of the “state”. Unfortunately definitions have been changed to alter the perception of capitalism and what it actually is, vs socialism, which is everything under the umbrella of the public sector.

Under capitalism, the public sector doesn’t get to have the same rights as a private individual who has a private business. But now, collectives are afforded the same rights as a private individual.

This is important to understand how socialism erodes individual rights. The collectives just trample the private indivudual.

I wouldn’t compare it to socialism, the heirarchy is wrong.

With socialism the politicians get to be the top of the food chain.

With our market structure monopolists figured out how to eventually corner everything that was publicly traded and the donor class runs both the politicians and the companies.

Although I guess it plays out much the same at the final stages, we just got gaslit into thinking we had fair markets while communists got gaslit into thinking everyone would be treated as equals.

Yes. iHeart is an app that has taken on a similar concept to podcasts combined with music radio. For example, if you put in an artist, you get a play list with similar music, much like youtube. They have their own awards like the Grammy’s, festivals and events, concerts…it’s yuge. The idea wasn’t just to have a radio station, it was to create an entertainment market. Bobbi Bones is part of iHeart too, who is one of the biggest names in country hosts/DJs

Only reason I know all of this is because my wife listens to iHeart. Will probably cancel it now.

So iheart is another war chest trophy for Bain capital

Also might know them for how they profited off blowing up toys-r-us

https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine...equity/561758/

“For private equity, however, the appeal is clear: The deals are virtually all upside, and carry minimal risk. Many private-equity firms chip in only about 1 to 2 percent of the equity needed for a leveraged buyout, and skim fees and interest throughout the deal. If things go well, the firms take a huge cut of the profit when they exit. If everything blows up, they usually still escape with nary a burn. Toys “R” Us was still paying interest on loans it got from KKR and Bain up until 2016, as well as millions a year in “advisory fees” for unspecified services rendered. According to one estimate, the money KKR and Bain partners earned from those fees more than covered the firms’ losses in the deal.“

These people already control all the media. Just lol at us.

I don’t really like to play party politics when discussing the true money and intent and manipulation of our people by those in power.

We really have telecommunications act of 1997 to thank for all this. I still remember watching them pass it on CSPAN when I was an edgy 11 year old and it was one of my first noticings as I had somone point out how not a single news station other than CSPAN was covering it.

We’re such a manipulated cucked populace. And every single media outlet is owned by special interest folks who know exactly what they are doing.
