Saying 'Oats are bad' is the hip thing to do at the moment

Seriously.
Everyone who was into lifting used to think oats were great, 15 or so years ago.
Is it just class stuff/posturing going on where people are bragging that they can afford an all meat diet nowadays?
Are oats really so bad?

Good ones are over-priced.
But if you can get the good ones then you might notice a difference.
Found occasional (rare) bits of junk in cheap brands.

Yep.

If nothing else the Scottish people used them to make oatcakes.
Milennials are too good to eat what caber tossers ate.

I don't need a thick bowl full of carbs with no nutritional value.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

Generally price is an indicator. Where I live anyway. Expensive brands are the best.
Obviously don't waste a cent on the flavoured ones though.

When you hear anyone say anything bad about cholesterol, you know you’re listening to a moron. Ignore them.

You’re confusing surviving with optimizing.

oats is plebs food. What governments and Lords feed their peasants. While themselves eating steak. Oats are cheap, no protein, no creatine, has very similar crap to gluten, makes many people bloated hungry and sleepy.

Oatmeal is a great breakfast meal.

You have to slowly boil it for several minutes while stirring tho.

It’s cheap, calorie dense, easy to make, filling.
I would be sceptical of any criticism from science brahs. They flip flop all the time. Meanwhile oats have stood the test of time.

If you eat Quaker Oats then enjoy your chlormequat - its a chemical that disrupts fetal growth and harms reproduction.

I get my oats from the local health food store.

I eat oats personally, only to fuel workouts and replenish glycogen etc. I buy organic ones. Too much spraying goes on with non organic veggies and grains.

It’s not something I eat daily. Personally I do much better energy and hunger control wise on a low carb diet. As my metabolism has been damaged by my old age, and a lifetime of terrible food, water and air in Russia. But if you are full of energy, and got no gut issues with it, eat it! That’s awesome. I got nothing against it. Just meet your optimal protein and fat requirements first.
