Stare at them, unblinking, for up to a minute.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

If it’s a work from home meeting type thing, you say something like this “thats a good question, and we can circle back to it offline.” Then proceed to never circle back to it or respond to an email about it.

That's my Job!!!!
I answer stupid questions for people that SHOULD know the answer.
I spend a lot of my time answering questions for Gen X'ers that have all the info they need to answer the question. I have found Gen X SO BAD at critical thinking they can't come inside when it rains unless somebody like me tells them.

The first thing I try to do is get over myself and stop pretending I am better than anyone.
Then I answer their question to the best of my ability or direct them to someone who can do better than me.
Usually pretty effective.

Just answer bluntly and directly. Don't taunt them about it. Use this as an opportunity to practice communication and teaching.
