This was the live draft lottery to send kids to Vietnam, was your birthdate picked?

Imagine watching this and you or your sons number gets picked, could again happen in the future:

77% of 18-21 year Olds couldn't joined the military, even if they wanted to.

So they would have to really lower the standards.

My Dad and Uncle were scared chitless of the draft back then.

Ken Burns had an interesting documentary of the Vietnam War. I recognized some of the cars and clothes as I was born during the war.

For now, we don't need it because enough people willingly sign up to fight for bullchit wars willingly…for now.

Ex GF back in high school, her dad knew he would be drafted, so he joined the Air Force, and became a dental assistant, and was stationed in the UK.

Imagine someone jumping up and down, celebrating that they got chosen for the draft. A chick tells him, “Make love, not war” and he says: “I prefer to do both”

I will not fight for this country unless it is attacked or the war is truly just. And 9/11 did not justify the war in Afghanistan. The closest thing to a just war RN is Ukraine, and even there, the US provoked it and did not take the right actions to stop it, and the Ukrainian government is nazified, but we would be justified in intervening to protect civilians and end the war depending on how extreme Putin would go to threaten Ukraine's future.

I have multiple reasons to get rejected so I would have been good. Wouldn’t have celebrated though.

You have to remember you’re serving with men in the same position. Band of Brothers did a good job illustrating what that meant.

Don't worry Wincel, you won't qualify for the draft.

Drinking your own piss is an automatic disqualifier. Even if it weren't, your multitudes of mental issues would disqualify you.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

There was a really long waiting list to join the reserves. Wouldn't do you much good these days with the "Total Force Concept" where they pushed almost all the combat support roles into the reserves, so they're getting called up right alongside the regular army.

I highly doubt the army would take 300 pound communists with mental disorders, so you're good.

Thing is, with a draft, it's pretty much straight to infantry, if you join though, and you score high enough, you'll qualify for something else.

Or just join the Navy. When's the last time we had a naval battle? WW2?

We are willing to lower standards so that black women can become surgeons. We will definitely lower them for soldiers.

Syria. Mostly aircraft, but they've been lobbing missiles at Navy ships as well. Vietnam you had naval aviation, brown water navy, and naval bombardment getting into it. The only time any actual ships were attacked were during the first Gulf of Tonkin incident, which actually happened, unlike the second that was probably just radar noise.

The people selecting the numbers from the hat. I couldn't do it. I'd eat a bullet eventually knowing that my pick resulted in the deaths of so many. Honestly, everyone that was apart of that should have had to fear for their life after.

I'm not against the idea of mandatory service, but when you do a lottery like that, it's BS.

Promise you that if they did it again today, they would exempt trannies, immigrants, autists, ect. There will be no DEI policies nor will they have a problem with 99% of the front lines of combat being white males.

Actually, if you look at recent wars, the front lines were disproportionately from the poor, including black and hispanic people. The US government's promise of free education was used to recruit them as cannon fodder. I love how you think you are a victim. You are, but far less so than them. But all the lower class folk are getting assraped by the capitalists.
