C5 corvette 5.7 L 6 speed manual

Thinking about picking one of these up soon. Can find them in good shape with 100k miles or less for under 10k. I am mechanically inclined. Tell me why I shouldn’t buy one of these fukin things, put a loud af exhaust on it, and rip around town?
