I mean, the diamond industry in general is one of the biggest scams of all time. So my suggestion is to be fairly frugal with any diamond ring. Those things lose value faster than a car after it first leaves the dealership lot

At the end of the day it comes down to clarity and color of the diamond rather than lab made or natty. I would go talk to a local jeweler instead of shopping online. Has she mentioned what kind of ring she wants? Sapphires can be attractive to some women as the main stone, but most want a diamond. Don't break the bank, and get a nice gold setting.

Not many people can tell the difference between lab grown and real diamonds with a naked eye. Assuming your just a regular guy. A lab grown diamond is fine.


Some people can tell the difference just by looking at them. But its doubtful you'll be rubbing shoulders with that crowd.

I bought one from jamesallen.com I think? Had it for a year or so, gonna do the thing in the next month-ish. I think I spent 4-5k total.

Went for a nice simple band, with a nice simple basic 1karat diamond in some simple shape all the girls love, and I went real instead of fake cuz the price difference wasn't enough to make me care. And telling her its a "real diamond" Im sure plays some sort of mind **** with girls and they'll like it more.

Yeah for sure but I wasn't about to do the leg work to have a jeweler set it and deal with semi shady sites/dealers for the stone. Its was a one and done thing, assuming we work out its worth it. I wont be buying another anytime soon either way.
