Are you not willing or are you not able? They're not the same thing. Kinda like Jacques Genovése taking to the gram and announcing that he's planning to stay single and celibate.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I'd be willing to teach little children in pre-K-2nd grade; or adult students in college / high school seniors

But in-between the babies and adults — hell no. Those little teenage/adolescent rats can be disrespectful

NYPD officer. I actually took the test when I was 19. Just lol at the thought of becoming one now. BRB working for a city council who openly despises you and a media salivating to throw you under the bus and and end your career over the most trivial of traffic stops for a starting salary or 58k

thats fuking retarded who would do that, i would rather work 12 hour shifts on an oil rig away from the general public than deal with that ****.

yeah i guess atleast corrections officers are usually out of the medias eye so they dont get any attention on them.

Still there has to be hundreds of employees on Riker's island all making like 50k, imagine their commute is like 2 hours and riding a boat every day to have to live somewhere to afford rent on that slave salary.

some of these jobs its like why even bother. you could go be a border patrol agent and you dont have to do anything. you just fill out some forms and watch them all come in and when enough illegals come in you call in for a bus to come pick them up. you can just chill in your SUV in the air conditioning watching tik tok videos all day. You dont have to actually get out and stop anyone from entering or arrest them or anything.

I took the CO test around that time too. Not NYC corrections so it’s definitely tamer, but also JFL at that looking back on it. Glad I didn’t get the job. Starting pay was like 42k and it topped out at around 90, which is still chitty in a high COL area. There’s overtime and pretty good benefits, but it’s absolutely not worth it.

Not at all. It's just that if someone wants to fix something, for example the state of the US, so that we don't turn into the next India, one should go into those fields which are hard and require the most work in order to sway things back into a favorable position.

You say you'd never teach at a blue state public school, great. Except for one thing, do you even have the credentials to get the job in the first place? What use is it for me to say I would never compete against Lebron James in an sanctioned NBA game because I don't like him, when in fact I'll never make it to the NBA to begin with.

Great pay and a fun job, more likely to get stabbed in the streets TBH.

This is up at the top of my list. I can't imagine voluntarily spending a significant amount of my life in a prison regardless of going home each night.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

Did this for a summer in university at a transformer factory, except it was winding wire around coils all day. God, that job sucked.

The saddest part was it was full of adults making about $12 an hour that were happy to have it. Some of them had families, which blew my mind.

For me it would be anything in an office. Not only having to deal with other office drones and play politics but do the same thing all day every day while your salary only goes up 2% a year.

Movies overhype the danger IMO, 90% is normal program and being bored. Only 10% is 'oh sht'. We lose more officers to car crashes being tired driving home than to assaults.

Oof, yeah those are bad, but cost of living determines how good a wage is.
