were white people the most evil/biggest proponents of the slave trade?

if you could somehow measure it by 'most suffering caused by….' in history, would it definitely be whites?

No it was other Africans they're rounded up the slaves to sell to other people so this whole b******* about American slavery it's just an illusion

OP do you know nothing at all about history?

Whites aren't even in contention when comes to slavery or inflicting suffering. I can't even believe how historically ignorant someone would have to be to think such a thing.

And that's without even getting into the fact that it was white people who invented being against slavery, and for a long time the only people in the world who wanted to end slavery where white.

The Romans, Greeks, Egyptian pharaohs etc were all partial to mass slavery. How "white" they were is open to debate.

The Ottoman empire was HUGE on slavery.

In ancient times people of all races were enslaved by others, as spoils of war.

The more recent West African Slave trade was mainly Africans enslaving other Africans, as spoils of war.

The Portuguese built Trade Forts on the West African coast during the renaissance. Through these forts they traded with the Africans and one of the commodities were slaves. Europeans were in no way powerful enough to take over Africa until the 1800’s when technology, mass production and Medicine gave them an edge to move into the interior of Africa and colonize it. By this time the slave trade was outlawed in most parts of the western world. The exception being Brazil and the Southern US states.

I guess no one seems to care about the Zanj Rebellion (first ever African slave revolt against their Arab masters…put down ruthlessly but ended the shipping of African slaves to the Arab world)
The "Slavic" people were literally hunted and enslaved by both the Western Christendom and Ottoman Turks.
The Barbary pirates of North Africa enslaved/sold over 1.5 million white slaves, including captured American sailors.
