Why do people call apartments “their home”

It isn’t yours stop calling it that

It's their home during the time they are renting it. It stops being their home the moment their rental agreement ends without renewal.

Now if they rented a house and calles it their "house", that would be stupid. But "home" could potentially be almost anywhere

For the same reason people who have moved onto their own mortgages/ houses hundreds of miles away and decades later say they are going or coming home to mom’s house.

Home is about a feeling you have towards a place, not a legal or ownership status. Michigan is my home but I don’t proclaim to own the state.

This. Mortgagecels don't seem to fathom that when they buy a place the bank is their landlord and when they pay it off the government is.

Several states are looking to pass no property taxes, Florida already has till 65, looking to lower it, Ohio is looking to stop it completely..this is something we should all be trying to pass & writing state representatives.
