I have not seen the reunion band though, I almost went last summer because it was supposed to be the last tour, but obviously it wasn't.
I thought the clips I saw from U2 there were pretty cool, but this is next level

If I had been old enough to go to this:
It would have been epic. But I probably wouldn't be alive today. So there is that, lol.

Anyway, apart from the comparison of that group to Taylor Swift being like a comparison of apples to raw butter, I don’t really consider music inherently bad just because I don’t take to it. I just consider it “not for me” and leave it at that.

My point was, you brought a band's popularity up, and the fact that we have not ourselves been successful as professional musicians, as a reason for why I should consider them to be good. So I responded to that by bringing up a music act - one you most likely don't care for that much - that absolutely dwarfs Grateful Dead's popularity. Yet you and many others don't automatically like Taylor Swift just because she is incredibly famous and we are told she is talented. Are you starting to get where I'm going with it, now?

Then, if you really want to critique the technical aspects of music composition and execution between the two, your opinion would hold more merit if you held similar achievements to either of them, or at least a credible background in the field of music. I do not know if you do, but I do not, so I avoid generalized critiques. That was my point.

Also, Grateful Dead has not won any grammies. They got nominated for one. Taylor Swift has won 14 and been nominated 52 times, hasn't been around long enough to make the library of congress. So that blows your entire arguement out of the water even looking at it strictly through those very specific lenses you brought up.
