back in the day what type of music would vikings be getting pumped up to fight with??
would it just be some guy banging a drum or would there be power (lute) chords or something too (surely not, no amplification), or anything similar to Mongolian throat singing?

just a guess but i dont think they had much. like basic drums, a yak horn or something and maybe some kinda string instrument. they didnt have much. i imagine they sang or hymed more than anything

i know they did drink a hallucinogenic mushroom drink to get themselves fired up before battle but yeah, I guess when you're tripped out, a constant drum and yak horn blowing and people psyching each other up - must have been scary as ****. it's amazing to me that people would march into battle with people playing music behind them

I think singing together on the ship or in taverns was the form of music back then.
