Income requirements just went up to qualify for rent.

Probably not everywhere but here in the US there are some landlords requiring you make 3.5 - 4xs the monthly rent to qualify.

Smfh...

I was already having a hard time with 2xs the monthly rent.

I mean, if they can get it without having empty units more power to them. Don't think this will work out longterm though.

it means landchads are getting afraid of missed payments and higher eviction rates.

sure demanding higher income ratios can reduce the risk some but these people can still get laid off. and most americans they like to spend money they dont want to live in a place 25% of their income because that means they could live in a bigger, nicer place that is 50% of their income.

Make eviction easier and you would have reduced rent, reduced credit score requirements, and reduced income requirements

Until that happens you renters can get fawked
