Anyone here into precious metals? srs (stacking)(gold)(silver)
I'm about to start stacking srs. I got convinced by Jason Genova and Mario
Do you use a safe? Only thing I'm afraid of is getting robbed. No one can steal my stock portfolio, but you could easily kick down my door and take my coins/bars/chains
First piece might be some of these
https://www.jmbullion.com/1-oz-color...ht-silver-bar/
then I gotta get some 1/10 oz coins, probably buy one per week, trying to get all the pandas, philharmonics, canada etc

well son of my loins, unless you're into numismatics with all that art and chit, metal stacking should only be done for ONE reason, and that's insurance. It's not investing, it's like having car insurance. So, if you have car insurance, does that mean you want to get into a car wreck? Of course not, son boy. I hope the POG stays down, because if it ever rises dramatically, that means we're in deep piss. I'd much rather have my stock and RE portfolio doing very well while my gold eagles SUCK ASS than vice versa.
So, having said that piss, the way you buy all the gold and i guess…some silver….is simple. YOu got your kitco.com, your apmex.com, your gainesvillecoins.com. Gainesville is usually the best. Okay, so now you got your chit, where do you put it ? The best damn way is to bury them underneath a swimming pool, but it's rare that the buying of gold and digging a pool on property coincide of ass. What about a shed boy? yeah boy….you bury them monster boxes about 6 feet down underneath the place where you're gonna pour the concrete. You get a ground pounder and pound the chit out of that dirt, make it all solid boy. Thick as an african pole vaulter's ass. Then you pour the slab. All that rebar in it. Ain't nobody ever find that gold with a metal detector. "Derp, my metal detector is going off around this shed"….well no chit son, there's tons of metal in the concrete. So, no suspicions there. Other things you can do of piss is to hide that chit in hard to reach areas WHERE THERE IS A LOT OF METAL. Now, you have made your metals very inaccessible. But son, SO WHAT? They should be inaccessible. They're only there for insurance in case of a butthole emergency where a loaf of bread is $500 and we have turned into ass. So, now it's worth jack hammering everything out. Smack city of piss out boy son in the butthole.

I do, Brobot. I would focus on cheapest silver out there and not so much the numismatic aspect of it. Silver should always have a spot price but the numismatic side will usually vary more than the spot price does.
I have several hundred ounces of silver, a few ounces of platinum, and very little gold. I even have about 1k (melt value) in Constitutional silver I've gotten over the years.

Stay away from apmex.com. They have a GREAT selection but charge way over spot for most of their products and give you less in return when you sell it. I use monument metals these days, for both buying and selling.

SD Bullion is where I buy most of my stuff online. They have the "Docs Deals" tab and usually have great deals.
Gold: 1oz coins have the lowest premium %. 1/10oz or 1/4oz are better for dollar cost averaging and being able to buy consistently. At SD bullion right now they have a good deal on a lower premium for 1/4oz gold coins. I usually stick to eagles, buffalos and maples. I just try to think of what the LCS (local coin shops) would prefer to buy and will probably get you the best price if you sell or need to sell. That's american coins and next up would probably be canadian maples.
Silver: I just buy what's on sale. I have a ton of stuff like maples, philharmonics, eagles, buffalo rounds, scottsdale 10oz stackers, random 10oz bars, junk silver, etc. I would suggest sticking to minted coins, 10oz bars or kilos on sale, and rounds. Just to make it easy. Again, look for deals on premiums. A lot of times the more you buy in bulk, the lower the premiums as well.
I keep my stuff in a safe. Just make sure to buy some desiccant packs to keep it dry inside. Those silica gel packs are great too. I just bought a cheap bag of silica gel packs and keep a bunch in there. This prevents the silver from milk spotting or starting to discolor and tarnish. None of my silver has tarnished just sitting in the open or in the 20/25 piece cases they come in and I just keep changing out the silica packs routinely. Gold never tarnishes so you don't have to worry about it at all tbh. Although I do have cases for my gold coins.
I can send you pictures of some of what I have if you want an idea.
Enjoy it too. The value of the gold and silver I hold has gone up quite a bit. I have made between $600-700 per 1oz gold coin I have just sitting in my safe from 1-2 years ago.

I collect mostly silver but I do have some gold and platinum too. Started collecting as a hobby years ago. I keep mine in a safe.
