Would you live out in the forest with no internet and 7/10 as your wife?

Basically going back to traditional European roots of living in a cabin out in the woods with your 7/10 wife. No makeup, no internet, no noise. Just you and nature.

You live in this

You bathe like this

Your wife takes care of the kid and they are homeschooled

Your wife cooks food like this

Cleans your clothes like this

Raise livestock and plant crops

No, I like technology. And why make things harder? I can forgo living in the city, but I still would like my creature comforts like refrigerator, a stove, etc.

This. She will stay skinny though (shout out to johnnydeep). But it's a hard way to live.

Interesting to think about. If we get a washing machine to save time washing our clothes, then dump all that extra time browsing the misc is that really a net positive?

I've spent quite a bit of time in 3rd world areas and met a lot of toothless 40-year-old grannies.

It's one thing to live in 3rd world city with electricity and running water working a factory job and another to raise crops working in the sun all day without good access to hygiene. The worst thing 1st world women (and men) do to age themselves prematurely is getting out of shape. Plenty of overweight people in 3rd world countries, but it does tend to be a lot less, from what I've seen. Working every day in the sun is really hard on skin though.

No. It's easy enough to take vacations in the forest or day trips

Permanently living in the middle of nowhere would be boring

getting materials there is the hard part. If there is a road to the property you can pretty much forget building off grid

Nope.

Its fun to LARP living in the wilderness for a weekend while on a camping trip, but not for years on end. That would be miserable for too many reasons to list. Just the lack of basic amenities would drive me crazy

-dependable fresh water
-washer/drier
-Air Conditioning/Heater
-out of season or tropical fruits and vegetables
-recreational activities that don't involve tending to farm animals
-You get in a fight with a bear/mountain lion or fall and break a limb then you'll be a gimp for life without proper treatment
-If you don't know herbs and how to treat an itch an accidental brush up against Poison ivy will be miserable
-you get bit by a rattle snake/black widow you're SOL.
