Republicans need to pull a bait and switch from Trump now

Steal back the momentum. It doesn't even matter who it is. This is basically how the game is played. We're past the point of it mattering who the person is. Someone new will excite and generate buzz toward the Republican party again.

Politics are a sad charade.

If the Repubilcans replace Trump on their ticket, there is a good chance I will vote for them.

The momentum is clearly with Kamala & just wait until Taylor Swift endorses her. Dump has wasted his attempted assassination boost by his stupid comments & behaviour since.

As Kamala Harris named Tim Walz, the Minnesota governor, as her running mate, recent polls showed the vice-president moving ahead of Donald Trump in the race for the White House.

Among recent national head-to-head polls, SurveyUSA put Harris up three points ahead of Trump, 48%-45%; Morning Consult put her up four points, 48%-44%; YouGov and CBS News made it a one-point Harris lead, 50%-49%; and University of Massachusetts Amherst put Harris up three, 46%-43%

How do you guys expect to counter an attack if you live in denial pretending Trump is still in control of this thing? Jesus wake up…. this is exactly why he'll lose. You all just want to live in a fairy land where you ignore the truth of how things have shifted.

I could get on board with it, but it will never happen. There's a lot of republicans that actually want Trump. Enough, I think, that switching at this point would guarantee a loss.

Almost no democrats wanted Biden, he was just a placeholder they thought could win. Interestingly, the fact they stuck with him as long as they did is itself an indictment on Kamala. They didn't want her either. After the debate it became clear to them he was so bad he didn't stand a chance of pulling in the handful of undecideds need to win so they jumped ship and Kamala was the benefactor. Kamala was a terrible candidate 4 years ago and her approval rating as vice president had been dropping throughout her term, but media outlets have been so effusive in their praise of her since she became the candidate that they have rebounded recently.

There is still a lot of time left and eventually she will open her mouth, and people will be reminded why they don't like her. Maybe Trump fouls up too badly to recover before then, but I wouldn't say anything is close to decided yet.
