I had friends who were deadheads in High school. I went along to the shows with them, 19 shows in the early 1990's - anywhere drivable from Chicago - Detroit, Deer Creek IN, the furthest we went was Louisville. You could get whatever you wanted in the parking lots, it was a blast. $1 grilled cheese from the hippies trying to make money to get to the next show.

Phish came on towards the end of my party era in my late teens, I saw them twice, once at the Cow Palace in San Fran, the whole place smelled like the neon greeon.

Never saw the Dead (or the cover band that calls themselves the dead) after Jerry died. I almost went to a Phish show a few years ago, but listened to recent concerts on youtube and decided they suck now, I liked the early stuff it was unique.
I'm just a whit guy frm the future, I completely out of touc

This macine is obsolete

Yeah, my mom’s ex-husband (R.I.P.) was both. I was young, not even a teenager yet, but I remember he would go to all the Phish shows on the east coast. What did they call those groupies who would camp outside every show and get phucked up out of their minds in the parking lot? Gate crashers? He was one of those guys, even got featured in a hippie magazine once srs.

I always thought it was absolute trash fkin music. He took me to a couple jam band shows. I remember Government Mule and some Jerry Garcia tribute chit. First time I ever smelled “green tobacco.” Nice people in the crowds, friendly, but all braindead junkie types like White dudes with filthy dreads, socks with sandals and stained clothes.

Never left much of an impression on me. My actual dad was a metal head and my friends got me into Hip Hop, where my heart stayed, but I’ll never forget this one song those jam hippies played that literally just went “phuck you, you cocksucker motherfuker” over and over again lmao srs. I still sing it sometimes. Funny as chit.

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

Yeah several people I went to school with were, early/mid 90's.
I liked Phish, but never went to their concerts. Also found their fanbase annoying. Their music is really good driving music, like if your driving across the country or up the coast. Smooth and relaxing as fuk.
Never got into Greatfull Dead.

Drove thru Montana and North Dakota with some buddies listening to this.
