Wow can't eat whatever I want now at age 31, its over boyos

Everyone told me it would happen one day, now that day has come. Used to be able to smash pizzas and beer like it was nothing, but now that isn't happening lol. Time to pick up some healthy habits. Low sodium, good food.

One of my used to be friends was always guzzling pop and eating garbage food and I told him the day would come he would have to watch his diet, he thought he was invincible and "special", that getting fat wouldn't happen to him, he got so fat that he would hurt himself bending over to get a can of food from the bottom cupboard.

A big factor with people I've known who blew up was they stopped doing manual labour where they were burning an extra 2000+ calories a day.

that's cuz old people move around and party less. It's not some "magic youing people metabolism".

plenty of fat young people. in fact we even have fat teenagers.

time to let that myth die. You eat like a slob and never work out. It's not "high sodium".
Weight Loss: Go carnivore or keto/low carb. Create calorie deficit. Buy packaged healthy meals if needed. Meat is good and heals, stop being lied to.

Calories in and out. It's easy to calculate the Calories in, not so easy to calculate the Calories out. Maybe your life is more sedentary, or you're working out less often OP? Exercise impacts your metabolism.

I think for the most part if you aim for 10k+ steps a day (even if it's just pacing around during phone calls), and you work out regularly, even in your 30s-50s you should be fine. So long as you don't drink like 1k+ Calories in alcohol/soda a day.

I'm 40 and on a diet which is working, it drives people mad when I tell them I'm on a diet, they act like I'm rebelling against God somehow and that people are supposed to be fat when they get older, fuk that.

most will fall into "that's just how it is when you get older" because not moving much and eating is more fun…plus many people that age aren't out there breaking their backs trying to find a mate…probably the biggest motivator to ever exist as far as staying in shape.

Yeah, lot of factors in play as we get older.

Less active, less muscle (muscle is very metabolically expensive and takes energy), etc…

I then put up another holding that day's date and he still wouldn't. Finally I put up a picture holding a card w/ a specific message on it to prove it was real and current.

His response was that above, to continue to refuse and claim it was his "plan all along"… which wow. Guy clearly does not lift, not just because of his squirmy response but also – maintaining a decent physique for 20 years as one gets older and older is actually not a bad deal. It's harder when you hit middle age.

Oh and btw, anyone in this thread - anyone who negs him, post in this thread what his starting reps were and what you negged him down to, I'll rep anyone who does that no questions asked. Welching frauds should all be negged , I think it's something we can all agree on.

It sucks for sure. When I start gaining too much, I have to hit the salad diet for 3-4 weeks to get it back off.

Never say you're on a diet

Just say im good just trying to check my weight or something like that

It's funny when I say I don't want something my girl chimes in and says hes on keto or w/e…I just tell them carbs make me break out and gives me gut issues and they shut up

No matter what the "experts" try and say, metabolism does slow down past a certain age. Young couch potatoes can still be a decent weight with zero effort and a horrible diet. And some people when older don't eat crazy amounts and really pack on the pounds.

In HS playing multiple sports, I struggled to put on mass of any kind. Weight lifting put on strength, but weight never went up. I ate like a horse, anything and everything. Probably 5-6k calories a day and stayed at 140lb at 6'. Even being active, that's a lot of calories to burn every day.

I now have to eat good way more often than not or the weight will creep up. And I still lift and stay active. If I didn't, I can see how someone could balloon up. We all have a bad week or so (like a vacation or family weekends) where you eat whatever, and it takes a week or so to feel / look normal again.
