ANTI EVcels, how good does the tech have to be before you adopt?

Would you buy one if the tech was better? Say 500 miles range for the same price as the same model gas version. Or do you just enjoy ICE too much and no amount of tech improvements would make up for the lack of soul and character in an EV motor?

I don't really think the range is that much of a problem anymore they are pretty good, but the time to charge it vs filling it certainly is if you're doing a long journey.

I do not particularly want an EV, i don't enjoy how they drive either, i can tolerate a hybrid though.

The EV/gas thing reminds me of the discussions people have with watches. Quartz/phones vs mechanical watches. All of the soul of watchmaking lies in mechanical watches, to a lot of people. Mechanical watches aren’t as accurate, they may not be as practical, but there is an art to them. I figure many gas vehicles are headed this way in the next few decades, some people will buy them for their love of cars over their utility.

My fear is being trapped in one after a crash and burning to an absolute crisp. Supposedly take 8X the amount of water to put one of these out compared to combustion engine. Or it spontaneously burning inside the garage. Don’t they recommend them NOT being parked in a garage for that very reason?

isn't about the mileage.

it's about anytime in the future the government and WEF can push another scamdemic and just turn off all EVs so you cannot use your vehicle. as well as pushing the climate change scam where they'll make up some other BS and and say your vehicle isn't allowed out of a certain zone, it will auto disable.

that and continue to cloudseed and make home charging harder as solar panels won't work, so you have to buy from the grid, and they'll jack up the prices of electricity to keep you a poorcell

The tech is the worst part. Driven alot of new cars, all screens all controls are digital and well the safety sensors are good for the avg pop but they are annoying as hell.

Nothing like driving older cars with analog dials and buttons, and the only thing a computer does is manage the engine and tranny. ****ing goat system

1) When the electric network is upgraded to accomodate the 5x increase in demand.
2) When they make the batteries modular and easily serviceable.
3) When they stop making them futuristic stupid pieces of crap with all screens and no buttons.
4) When the price is equivalente to an ICE car.

I would need

500+ mile range
Swappable batteries
Batteries that don't explode
Charging stations everywhere
5 minute charging
Easy and cheap to work on

Obviously those aren't all happening any time soon

I'll buy one when it becomes equal to ICE in cost, range, and charge time. The technology is probably 80% of the way there but we've had a century to perfect ICE so it might be another decade or 2.

The technology is good enough now on most. Some still have trash range. I just don't care that much.

We seem to be experimenting some technological differences.
