It’s irrelevant

Lebron was supposed to waste away in Cleveland while they got him no help?

They drafted the best team in the NBA around Mj and maintained it for 10 years. The team was so good that even when MJ was playing baseball in 1994 his team made a deep playoff run with Pippen

The “home grown” vs free agency thing is one of the most retarded arguments in sports. It’s just luck if your guys end up not busting after the draft

Kind of a stupid list considering that Lebron won a ring with the Cavs and Lakers didn’t actually draft Kobe. The hornets did

This really is a stupid as f*ck argument.

Was every player on Jordan's championships homegrown? No? Then the team wasn't a homegrown championship.

And I'm a Jordan is GOAT fan. This is just stupid as f*ck though.

The list has to end somewhere and it trails off with 1's so him being not included in it doesn't mean the list is stupid.

But the list is stupid for other reasons.

It's stupid because it literally doesn't matter

Magic was got drafted by the team that had the current GOAT at the time kareem. What did he do to get drafted into such a great situation?

KG Spent most of his career on the terrible timberwolves, even tho he was just as good as Tim Duncan during their prime. Should he get praise because he stayed with his dog chit organization for so long whereas Tim got all the best tools put around him to allow him to win 5 rings?

It's literally one of the dumbest arguments in sports and it's used specifically just to discredit certain players

Lebron is top 5 for sure. Saying he's goat is lunacy, it only exists online w/ dickriders. The big red flag on Lebron's resume is 2011. You can't be near the GOAT when you have the biggest chokejob EVER by a superstar in the finals. He destroyed his team that year.

Curry and Bron are basically tied. Curry's last ring was more impressive than any of Lebron's, with Wiggins as his #2.

What about MJ in 95?

Is it worse to get to the Finals and choke, or not even make it to the Finals?

What about MJ in Washington?

Curry and Lebron are NOT tied lmao. Literally no sports analyst in the world would put them at the same level

Lebron is firmly #2 in normie rankings and #1 in actual rankings

And you gonna say Curry's last ring against a mentally weak and shallow Boston team was better than Lebrons 2016 win???

Curry had FOUR ALL STARS on his team in 2022 lmao

Lmao I was like lmao

What a fukking retarded take

Curry didn't even earn FMVP in 3 of his 4 rings. Can you imagine?

Most of those multiple championship players are from a totally different era where contracts meant something and players didn't constantly follow money around, they actually cared about winning for a team and a city.

NBA players today are basically mercs that are pay for hire. I can name at least a dozen "superstars" that have been on multiple teams over a 5-8 year period. Guys like Bird, Kobe, Jordan and Magic literally played their entire careers on one team (Jordan being the exception but his championship years).

I guess players should just leave their entire career in the hands of a GM overlord and if the GM doesn’t build a championship team around them then oh well!

This is actually what good GMs do. Golden State being a prime example. Miami is another. Boston is a current one.

Right

But what happens if you’re a star player whose GM did not do this?

Lebrons first tour in Cleveland
KG in Minnesota
Dame Lilliard in Portland

Should they get penalized in these sorts of talks for seeking a new team in free agency? Or should they just stay on their chit team and say goodbye to any chances of ever competing?

He's slowly but surely taking that #1 spot on several different publications

People are realizing how terrible Jordan's competition was and how diluted the league talent was in the 90s

One thing is for sure: Steph is in NO ONE's top 10 rankings lol

Lebron/MJ
Kareem
Magic/Bird
Duncan/Shaq/Kobe
Bill/Wilt

The end

I still have LeBron at #2, but the gap between him and Jordan is quite large imo

The gap between Jordan and everyone is large though

How do you beat 6-0 in the finals with 10 scoring titles?

By going 11-1 in NBA finals and being labeled the greatest defender ever like Bill Russell

Or having 6 rings with more MVPs and being the greatest college player of all time (unquestionable) while having the most unstoppable shot of all time in the sky hook by Kareem

This argument about rings by Jordan is literally one of the dumbest, and easiest to counter out of any single narrative around a player

Duncan always had the better team

But in their peaks they were pretty damn equal

KG a little better scoring, Duncan a little better defense

If they were switched and Kg had the 5 rings on a super team we would be ranking him in the top 10

LeBron had help on the CLE Cavs his early years. They made it to the NBA Finals in 2007 and they had to beat the Detroit Pistons to get there…
