Why do people like George Carlin?
I used to like him because he seemed like a lot of what he said made sense.
But really a lot of his rants are just negativity camouflaged as wisdom.
Maybe what he says often contains a grain of truth but he's intentionally focusing on the most pessimistic possible view. And it's not the full truth either.

Seems designed for losers to cheer.

He stripped the glitter off of a lot of topics. It's what a lot of comedy is, pointing out the absurd. You're not going to point out absurdity on a lot of things without coming off pessimistic. Enjoy the content or don't.

Carlin, as big of a lefty as he was, saw the government for what it is and found a good way to make fun of the absurdity, and as far as I know, never directly alienated people of opposing political views. He was a comic genius.

His last specials when he was pretty old - for instance the one you linked - definitely were more spiteful indignity and less comedy than previous eras. He kinda fell off at the end. In his prime tho his material was terrific.

Comedians are not sources of wisdom. They’re like Tucker Carlson, talking a lot because they are not responsible for ever doing anything right.

Like a lot of people, the older he got, the grumpier he got. Just look at how bitter David Letterman got at the end of his show.

Its because back in those days the enemy was the Republican they were the evil ones taking the freedoms, but Carlin and the guys like King and young still hold onto the view that the democrats are the good guys, they are all Atheist who bash Christianity yet their religion is the democratic party

I enjoy those videos from the OP
Not really laugh out loud funny, but amusing and entertaining. He was always educating people, hopefully some normies learned something watching his comedy
