Breathtaking CA home lowers price from $1.379M to $799k. Still no takers.

This is a real stunner home. Every interior finish done to perfection. Seems like California home prices are finally falling off of a cliff.

Oldcels in Palm Springs are looking to cash out they (yes, "they", we on that ebonics time) equity and retire to a lower COL area.

The only problem is that young couples will be hesitant to invest in Palm Springs since there are no jobs out there other than the local casinos. It's just not an ideal place for a man to raise a family.

The only way I can see Palm Springs being attractive is if Elon Musk sets up some sort of Giga Factory out there, but since Elon is beefing with CA's government, it just won't happen.
Everything I post is satire.

LOL at the history.

Sold for $340K in 2022, resold 2 months later for $765K. Nice!! Current owner tried raising it $1 million over what it was in 2022 a year later and they've failed at selling for over a year now. Now that's brutal. Even if it sells at $799K they'll have lost money. The upside is the house probably hasn't been lived in for over two years, just flippers.

BRB, be the second buyer within 3 months, pay well over double what it was 3 months ago.

Almost definitely a flip with some improvements that went upside down. They likely rejected offers of $1M a year ago.

Now that's brutal. I hope the second flipper is a large company, not some mom and pop operation.

When I was a prospective home buyer, I liked your threads OP - gave me hope for a house price crash. But now I'm already buying a home. Noticing a trend of like 75% of your threads like this are about California houses/condos. Would rather see you highlight some more affordable areas' houses like Texas/Florida. California is being exposed as a chithole by everyone, it's no wonder their prices are plummeting.

I saw nearly 8000 sq ft on the listing and was wondering wtf was wrong with the place until I realized that was the lot size lol. It's nice but nobody with a family gets a 1200 sq ft house unless they just can't afford bigger. This house can only be sold to trust fund kids in their 20s as a starter home or gay couples which severely limits the pool of potential buyers

'dropped'

comparables are valued at 750-850k, not 1.4M

that's the reason why there are no takers

I actually like the house. Good spot for a single bachelor or an old couple with no kids/living a minimalist life-style.

House is worth 200K max in the rest of the country.

This looks like the perfect bachelor pad house, but LOL at those Cali prices.

House was built in 1938 if they didn't replace all the plumbing hello lead pipes.

Well california also implemented a mansion tax. Although that's for 5m+

Real estate there is really fukked. I can't see their market sustaining their prices so no wonder a lot of them are dropping way down.

I flipped a home in palm springs a few years back that was slightly larger and had 1 extra bedroom for about $520 after the remodel, in a neighborhood right around the corner from there
