Depends on the event. Didn't that aussie breakdancer Raygun kind of just sign up and get in due to some glitch in the system? She got a score of 0 anyways.

The breakdancing was embarrassing. Every guy I've seen dancing for tips on Beale St could have gold in that garbage

Also, there was another poll where a majority of people thought they could take a single point off a professional table tennis player.

Now THAT is some delusion.

Most people drastically over-estimate their abilities. A lot of brits think they could qualify for the air rifle. I've been shooting (rifles/shotguns) 30 years now. And pistols around 20 years.

I started shooting one when I was around 5 or 6 years old. And there was a long period of time when I averaged around 1500 shots per week. (srs) Measured by needing to buy around 6000-7000 pellets per month.

Even if a Brit managed to have the time/funds to shoot 1500 shots per week for the next four years. Or 312,000 shots total in preparation. They'd still be drastically behind the curb training/experience wise. As a 10 year old me would have had far more experience/skill. People talk about that Turkish guy just showing up with no gear and getting a silver like its a meme. That dude has been shooting like that and competing for years. Laugh even harder at the archery one. As I also shot a bow daily for years. Its more difficult then shooting a rifle by far.

Also loled at seeing Skateboarding on the list. If you can qualify for Olympic skateboarding. That basically means its all you do for a living right now. You don't have a job, you just get paid to skateboard and endorse products. I wonder how many of those individuals skateboard professionally.
