And that's just the people openly following him - he's probably known by half of the world if not more.

My theory is that even the most popular people on SM have more followers than they have on paper.

He's the most popular person in contemporary society.

I don't follow him on instagram, but I'm an obvious fan of soccer. So yea, it's probably well over 1 billion if you added people like me that don't really follow celebs on IG.
