Disney is one of the most litigious companies ever.

Fun fact, copyright length has been pushed back time and time again to be almost meaningless to protect Mickey Mouse. It’s referred to by people in the industry as the “Mouse Law.”

It wouldn’t matter - you can’t contract around basic legal protections. At the most they might be able to bring it to mandatory meditation/arbitration.

Forced arbitration clauses need to be trashed across the board, lots of the big companies do this chit

Tesla is well known for it so I’ll be surprised if Elon wades into this one

I don’t know how they work in Canada, but in the US these clauses also include a choice of forum (physical location) and law (all state’s have slightly different laws). So you can have a provision where you have to show up in San Francisco, but Texas law applies.

Absolutely vile.

Yeah those EULA's don't hold up in court at all when there's a real world problem like this. They basically only exist for basic online and service related legal matters, but when something happens like someone dying the lawyers and courts will be quick to void their effectiveness and legality.

There's just too much law and legislation pertaining to accountability with death related incidents for that to work. It'll come down to superior laws like state and federal which will override it.

If a series is more than 5-10 years old you can barely find a 720 version online

I download heaps of chit but I also pay for some streaming services for convenience
