Torn meniscus surgery
I've had minor pain and discomfort in my knee turns out to be a small tear in my meniscus and my doctor recommended surgery. Anyone had experience with this and bodybuilding? How long before being able to do leg workouts again? And shall I just do upper body if I decide to do it?

What kind of tear do you have? I had a small root tear and surgery to repair it last Nov was a total failure and nightmare. I wish they had just cleaned it up in the first place. I spent 3 months in horrendous pain, I also reacted to the anchor they put in my tibia so when they went in to clean up the failed repair in Feb this year, they had to remove that which they normally wouldn't do.

It depends on your age and expected level of use in the future.
They can do a half fix that works for most people and heals within a couple months. Or there’s a more serious repair that will get it back to perfect but takes like 6-9 months to recover.
