Why do women hate (men playing) video games?
I think it’s well-known at this point that men playing video games ranks highly on women’s “ick” hierarchy.
No other hobby to my knowledge is looked down upon to quite the same degree. I think sloots would even look more favorably on a guy whose hobby was just binging tv shows on Netflix for hours. Why are women like this?

Most women have no hobbies and only 1 or 2 close friends that they really don’t even like that much.
So when they see you yucking it up with the boys in a pure relaxed state it drives them crazy because they know they could never be that happy.
It’s basically jealousy.

If dudes go out golfing with their buddies - it drives them phuckin crazy. A lot of times, the women will tag along to golf, and play the worst golf you've ever seen, and hold everyone else up. They aren't having fun at all, and they have no interest in getting better. They just don't want to feel left out like their bf is having fun without them.
A guy I know was going to go disc golfing last week. Canceled because his wife wanted to go to the beach. Homeboy goes disc golfing every weekend, leaving his wife by herself for like 4 hours to entertain herself, and she phuckin hates it. Now she's starting to push back on it.
Video games are basically the same thing. You're off in your own little world, having fun, ignoring her, and she can't join in.

People saying Videogames is a waste of time while being on misc. and binge-watching some Netflix trash series
SRS videogames did teach me some trivial stuff and as a dude in design, it helped me with exploring certain art styles. Overall video games are the ''better'' option for time wasting when compared to what most people do - watching TV, spamming on Reddit, Netflix binge-ing, wasting time in some trash bar almost everyday, watching sports etc.
Games are bad when it becomes an obsession like playing only WoW or LoL for hours every day for years.

So, you are playing a game and really into it. You are enjoying the game a lot....BUT....to a woman you are defining her by your enjoyment of your game, so she must shut it down.
You can be around some women and say "I love apples" and they will turn the apple comment into something about themselves.
How can you sit and play a game for five hours but you don't want to go to the craft show with me for one hour!!!!
Narcissists will try to destroy all fun that they are not controlling.
If you are doing something positive do not let others insult you out of it.
However, if you play games for hours and hours all of the time, you are a fool. The same goes for TV. If you are sitting an watching Friends over and over for eight hours a day, you are wasting your life. Games are typically a simulation of some action situation and if you're not living a real life of action and only getting through a game you are being a loser.

I was a pretty hard-core gamer until I was 20. Then I went to college. Got rid of all my PC games and all consoles/games. While fun. Gaming is a fairly anti-social behavior. Yes if you are playing online with other people its a form of socializing. But at the expense of IRL friends/family. Even if you binge watch TV/movies. Its at least something that can be done with others around. If you are wearing a headset and are locked into a RPG or FPS. Good luck holding down a conversation with someone or thinking about anything else.
My girl absolutely hates 'gamers'. Probably because her siblings/cousins were hardcore gamers and nerd out too much over them. I can literally hop on my motorcycle and jokingly tell my girl I'm going ride and hit on the bishes that are miring my bike. Or I'm going hit the gym and get a pump with the gym bunnies. And while she might be slightly annoyed at me saying that/jealous at the thought. She'd prefer I do that then sit around in the house gaming. Literally would prefer me doing anything else then playing video games. (Lmao).
I think dudes can have balance and play games. But if you get too sucked into them its probably detrimental on a social level.

I don't think they hate the hobby as a whole, but there's a stigma/stereotype of laziness and nerdiness associated with it. I know some girls that are super into gaming - but most aren't attractive tbh (might be their form of escapism).
It depends more on their history with guys who were gamers, and how those guys handled it. Did they fail classes in college, did they cancel plans/dates because of a video game, did they get angry when they died/lost and scream or take it out on their GF, does the hobby absorb their life and put their GF or other important life things in lower priority?
Video gaming, unless it's like doing VR moving around type of stuff, tends to be a sedentary/docile activity. So there's probably a realistic correlation between video gaming and obesity tbh. Men are less likely to have "accidental" fluctuations of gaining fatty weight if their main hobby is something physical.

IE zero risk of injury from the hobby, staying in to play games so won't go out and cheat, the hobby is generally cheaper than many others like boats/cars/football-tickets/golfing, can be a mutually shared collaborative or competitive activity, etc.
