That sucks. I had no idea he was fighting cancer.

Young guy, only 63 years. Frustrating he was never inducted in the HOF during his life. He earned it, such an impressive physique even by wrestling standards with how massive he was and how tall. Then those killer promos. Guy was a big star but he could have been up their in the Savage/Flair/Hitman tier of greatness if he'd has slightly more passion for it. Even without it, he's a former multi-time world champion and rightly so.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

If you searched the term ‘Look’ in a wrestling dictionary, there would be a picture of Sid.

One of the few heels in his day who was hard for folks not to cheer for or want to fist bump. Speaking of, did anyone ever see a fist bump in their life before he did it?

He could come in and out and always be rightfully viewed as a top guy with no bells and whistles needed.

His run when coming back in 96 through 97 was just awesome. It was such a great connector between the New Generation and Attitude Era.

He should have gone over Hogan at WM8 during all that turbulence, the steroid trial, and the eventual dip in the business that followed during the Bret era.

RIP to the master and the ruler of the world.

One of my absolute favourites, he was an effortless star, I can only imagine the heights he would have hit if he was passionate about the business.

Was a real shame that he got badly injured at the end of WCW, He's one guy they really could have used in the Invasion and Vince ALWAYS had a hard on for Sid so he wouldn't have been buried.

Blasting Scorpions - Coma White in his memory.

Didn't see this coming.
Wish I could have met him. Although I know I wasn't worthy of the Master and Ruler of the World.

Reps if someone can find that clip where Sting is about to splash Sid in the corner, but Sid chokeslams him instead.
I think it was one of the WCW PPVs in 99.

His promo skills have always been very under-rated.
Just watch the clip I've linked.

Also the Millennium Man gimmick was under-rated.

From his son:

"He was known as Psycho Sid Vicious to the world, but to our family, he was simply 'Popper,' the beloved grandfather.
Sid was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2016 and atrial fibrillation (better known as AFIB) around the same time. He was also given a pacemaker. In April 2021, he was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which was linked to roundup weed killer.
Although he never told anyone about his fight against cancer, Sid lived his life to the fullest, attending the gym, boxing classes, making appearances for his fans, and of course t-ball games for the kids. He passed away peacefully in his bed, leaving behind a legacy of strength and determination. I've never met anyone with a fraction of the strength as my father he truly was one of a kind.
Thanks everyone for the uplifting words and love we definitely feel it we have received thousands of messages and are grateful for everyone of them. I don't have time to reply but I have read them all thank you thank you thank you!"

My mind was blown when he debuted in WCW in 99.
I saw it live.
Completely unexpected, he ran in on another match and flattened everyone.
He looked even bigger than I remembered him from his WWF 1997-ish run.

Here's another side of Sid most people probably forgot.
Sid giving a kid with downs syndrome, probably the biggest moment of his life!

I believe, he was offered the spot but turned it down. He didn't want to be the top guy and on the hook for 250+ consistent appearances and all the weight of being the #1 guy.

I read he kept his battle with cancer private. He could have gone public and gotten a ton of support, and prayers, best wishes, and money. Wrestlers have gone on gofundme for lesser physical issues. Must respect him for wanting it that way. I seen him in wcw growing up. I was excited when he joined wwf. I liked that run a lot. Then iirc he went to wcw again, and admittedly I remember little about that. When in 94? I think it was he was back in wwf and that was my favorite run from him. His entrance was pumped af. Talking to himself when fist bumping fans. I was hype for him by the time he got to the ring. He teamed with 123 Kid. But his title run and just being in the main event was great. Then he went back to wcw under a disastrous time booking wise. I stopped watching nitro by then because it sucked so much.
