Lots of great advice ITT - what I do is, in the morning if my face is a little puffy I’ll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Great picks. I'm a huge fan of HA for moisture and vitamin C serum for just general healthy skin.

Personal routine:
1. Double cleanse in the PM, just foam in the AM. The oil gets rid of any dirt in the PM, and the foam feels really nice and I find I get a better clean this way vs just 1 step of any of other cleanser.

2. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week in the PM. I'm currently using a lemon peeling gel (not to be confused with a scrub that irritates your skin), but I love peeling pads too.

3. Tone. In the summer I use a BHA toner to prevent acne, and in the winter AHA.

4. Sheet mask in the PM, or mud mask like 1-2 times a week but before toner instead.

5. Essence. I use a HA one.

6. Serum. Love vitamin C serum.

7. Cream, a water based one in the summer and a heavier one in the winter.

8. Eye cream. Currently using jurlique eye cream because it's very effective and I got it on sale for 10 dollars. Its 70 originally so I won't be rebuying it. But strivectin is the one I usually use.

9. Sometimes I put hydrocolloid patches in the pm during the summer if I see a pimple forming. It absorbs the pus like a sponge overnight

It might seem excessive but the AM has less steps and some steps don't have to be done everyday. It does work for me and I get a lot of compliments on my skin which was dull and ****ty not too long ago.

Started this routing October 15th.

Good God, exfoliation is a world changer, plus the daily moisturizer and sun screen are causing my hyper pigmentation to slowly dissipate. Id say my skin has improved upwards of 20%.

Once again I practically never did anything to my skin other then soap and water, which was also rare. My skin was just screaming for hydration and exfoliation. I know its far fetched to expect such drastic results in just 2 months, but in my case, the results are extreme. I need to watch my diet and get more exercise, and I feel the results will be even better (just ate a pizza).

Just did a 30% TCA full face peel, 2 layers.

I've done about 4 or 5, 20% TCA peels in the past, but this peel went deep. After 4 days almost all the dead skin has peeled off, although my baby butt skin underneath is bright red! The results look to be ASTOUNDING if my skin stays like this and its not just micro swelling.

The shallow acne scars look to all have but disappeared, but its only day 6 so I will re-evaluate several weeks from now and see what results I get.

Disclaimer: I would not recommend this peel unless you have a week off from work. I also would not do this peel without assistance from a doctor if youve never done a peel. You can seriously fuk up your skin if you jump right into a 30% peel. My skin was used to 15 and 20% peels, so I went for the big Kahuna, and Lawd, it stung like hell.

What would be the proces of geting Retin-A via prescription? Through a dermatologist or possibly directly at the pharmacy via the request for “strong acne” ? (No acne here but read that it’s considered a legit reason)

Soft 11 lines (frown) are slowly creeping in, and i’m working on stopping them in their tracks, hyper pigmentation has been under control following a persistent set of trials and approches on shaving leading to as little ingrown hair as possible

im ordering some Vit C and Hyluronic serum, theres some combo serums on Amazon that have thousands of 5 star reviews, are those worth it or should i stick with 2 separate pure serums?

i need to find a good sunscreen since i work outside everyday

i've done some reading where a lot of people no longer use Retin-A because essentially when you stop using it you go right back to baseline or slightly worse, and then the concern that if you're using Retin-A your skin is very sensitive to sunlight

Here's what I use brahs. So far I'm seeing reduced wrinkle lines (I only really have smile lines forming):

AM:
- Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Foaming Cleanser
- Thayers Witch Hazel Toner (Unscented or Cucumber)
- The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide + 2% Zinc
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream w/ Hyaluronic Acid
- Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

PM:
- Neutrogena Cleanser
- Witch Hazel
- TO Vitamin C 23% + 2% HA Suspension
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost

I want to eventually bring in a snail cream and retinol. That should start putting me on full god mode skin again.

Shoutout to r/SkinCareAddiction and r/AsianBeauty

Japanese sunscreen is the GOAT. The Biore sunscreen is the first one that doesn't leave a white cast or chitty sunscreen tint on my skin.

And that Neutrogena Hydro Boost is the first moisturizer that doesn't leave my face greasy after 2 hours.

Retinol is shiet

Retin-A is GOAT. Prescription only but could be bought online even Evay. As long as the ingredient is Tretinoin and concentrated at least at 0.025%

Oh and if not mentioned earlier: SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN always. At all times, and supplement in vitamin A to compensate.

Prevention is worth more than cure so start early and thank yourself later when looking back

Hey man I know this is old but I really need to fix my skin. It just gets oily easily and I get mild acne but also little bumps especially on my forehead and some redness on my cheeks and stuff. Also big pores Basically my skin is pretty sensitive. I just got everything on your list except the chemical exfoliaters. Do you think bha or aha is better and also do you think it's really necessary to use both? What exact ones from Paula's choice do you use? Not sure what % do you use? My skin sounds similar to yours. Lastly is there anything non perscription that's like retin-a? Thanks!

I only use Stridex (BHA) wipes, Tea tree oil wipes, Sulfur mask and Nizoral shampoo (also used as a face mask).

These products kill Demodex mites which are the main cause of acne and most skin conditions, not a lot of people know about them or realise, but you all currently have them living on your face, in your pores and hair follicles. They mate at night, feed off sebum, have a lifespan of 2 weeks and decompose on your face. They dont have anuses so they just get big and die, then rot on your face.

Since Ive been running these products alone my skin is fking fantastic, I no longer struggle with adult acne.

Been doing this for a few months now and my skin looks aLOT better! thanks OP.

One question tho (anyone can answer)

How much different would it be If i switched the Vitamin C serum to something cheaper?? Its by far the most expensive thing on here and gets used much faster than anyhing else...

Any recommendations on something cheaper? can it be used only once a day instead of twice? etc? (ITS SO EXPENSIVE!)

You can use it once a day. I use Melano CC Serum, I have read great things about it. Just got it a couple days ago though.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% is $5.80. It's absolutely fantastic.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone comes in at a heftier $6.80 and it has a slightly less gritty texture than the one mentioned above. I've used both, prefer this one. I use it every other day in the mornings (my curology also has Vitamin C which I apply nightly) and it's working great.

I had twice the entire set from Paula's Choice for balancing (the green one) and some from the acne kit when I was younger, my mother got the dark blue one for older than 40 years old. She had an allergic reaction and she could not use them, but I definitely recommend Paula's Choice, Clinique and Bioderma. From what I remember Paula's Choice has a kit for acne and BHA and AHA are with 2 % peroxide, it helps your skin, but it also makes it dry and very sensitive.

My strong recommendation is to visit a dermatologist who will ask you to perform blood tests, I know that many people will just try to do cosmetics, but your face OP required some laser and if your pores are still open, it means that your acne is still active. The bacteria does not lie only on the surface of your skin, but also inside of your body, that's why antibiotics have such great results.

Bioderma has a great sunscreen protection and a moisturizer for unbalanced skin/dermatosis. I also take 24h beauty supplements with zinc and collagen + other things to improve my skin. If you have active acne, I recommend the light blue acne kit from Paula's Choice, it's worth it. However, I'm having my second appointment and blood tests with my dermatologist next week, will ask him for a prescription for Retin A and about the vitamin C serum.

Does vitamin C pills equals the serum or the effect is different ?

My routine is : washing gel from bioderma for atopic skin, moisturizer from the same brand, 50 spf bioderma sunscreen protection and 50 spf spray protection , then make-up, I use lancome foundation and it has 10 spf protection.

After I'm done with my things I use a make-up remover, than the same cleansing gel, same moisturizez. Under my eyes I use Dermovat which is one of the fattest creams for dermatosis and hiper-dried skin, my dermatologist told me to use it, it makes the wrinkles disappear.

I exfoliate my skin with a glove(2 times a week) and a tea trea oil cleansing gel and apply a mask with argile and lemon zest or argile and water. I wash it and then again apply moisturizer. Usually 5 mins massage each day while applying the cream, lifting my entire face to the upper side. My mother massages her face with a spoon, she learned from an Asian lady.

And my dermatologist who applied laser to my open pores after he treated the cause.

Great thread, will use the serum and the retin A
