I found this woman, Honor Harrington is the easiest character to identify with for me because her code of honor is exactly what I have been trying to live by. *Please note that I said,trying.

The funniest thing is, every time someone recognize her action in the book I feel a tremendous proud of her, couldn't help, even though I know this is a fiction and she is a fictional character.

And the author who created this character is a man.

I wonder does this make me a gay? (I've just found out she was 188 centimeters tall, physically formidable woman because of Sphinx, her home planet's heavy gravity.

Which also reminds me of 60s Sci-fi "Starwolfseries", the classic, novels byEdmond Hamilton, a hero raised by space pirates, a heavier-than-Earth-normal world of Viking-like aliens....)

Ahem, anyway the stories were about her character strength not physical one.

Just two complaints,

1) Every book, people die, each side, in more than a squadron scale total destruction. Over a few dozens of thousands of casualties.

2) Every book, the characters, especially the ones grown on me/readers instantly die, with a few exceptions, both good guys and bad guys.

IMO, less total destruction of warships with more survival rate helps to create more human dramas/interactions in the future.

Got done finishing this book and as the title says it's a good beginner book to get the feet wet in knowing about real estate. Gives you a lot of routes to take, strategies, who to have on your team, such as an agent, attorney, contractor, etc. Stuff like 203k loans which made more sense reading it in this book and 1031 tax strategies. It aint the end all be all tho. If You're looking for investment properties their rental property investing book by bigger pockets if more up yo alley(which i have, i'll likely get to it this year)

I'm 25 pages deep and so far it's more like what the 99% don't know about real estate. People who don't have 1% money know about Wholesaling, owning rental properties, etc. Had good reviews and looked interesting so i picked it up to of course, learn more about real estate.

the part where he felt suicidal and depressed, locked up in prison. but then meets abbe, who completely changes his entire mindset. the positivity, the hope you get from reading it. it's just amazing. it's like the shawshank redemption vibes. it gives you hope. which is what makes this book really stand out imo. it makes you feel something. and it's just written greatly.

So the first 6 books are a pair of trilogies written by Frank Herbert, everything else is by other people. I've heard books 2&3 are good, 4-6 are weird but pretty good, and everything else (i.e. not frank) are pretty terrible. I've never read anything but Dune since I don't want to taint my impression of the novel, I may read 2&3 soon tho.

The most amazing thing about "Dune" was that it's written in 1965 (I was only six then).

The movie was released in 1984, two decades later the novel was written.

And we are still talking about it, in the year 2021 (according to some of the sci-fi classics, we humans should have conquered the galaxy by now), over half a century later (56 years later) the original story was written.

Whether to read first or to watch first at this point won't change anything.

Because in this case, both the book and movie are GOAT, like LOTR.

Red Metal – Mark Greaney – 7/10

A action filled stand alone book from Mark Greaney (the same guy who brought you the Gray Man series). I wanted to like this book but it kind of bored me. I guess I can say I'm not really a war guy, but I don't think that was the problem as I've read other war related books that I've definitely liked. I think the problem for me lies in the overuse of military jargon and abbreviations throughout the book. I find it boring to read. The human aspect among the soldiers I did like as it's more engaging and interesting to read.
