got this vintage Omega off ebay for $700

I dig it. Am I generally to be assured that the watches will function properly for a good amount of time, despite being used?

Buy the seller, not the watch. The vintage business is very tricky.

For a vintage Omega like that just ask kabananga. And if you ever need it serviced just ask me or kaba for dat dere cheap service hookup. They are easy watches to own, don't worry so much.

Haven't bought a watch in 6 months, getting the itch again..

No not generally. You must do your research on the seller.

So this watch got delivered yesterday and I really dig the hell out of it. Even though the case measures large the actual face is a perfect size. I figured I would not like the rubber band but it suits the watch. I ordered a deployment clasp and I will see if I can swap over the bracelet from my other Bulova to see what it looks like in stainless.

That's because I learned to shut my mouth when I don't have anything nice to say. Not meant to be a dick, but your collection just doesn't do anything to me. Imo most look chitty and disgusting.

Get a vintage Omega/Rolex. One of those >>>>>> all of your current collection.

But in the end it depends on what you want. I love vintage because they've got an authentic feel to them, while I think many new watches, especially the cheapos (but also many in the $10k range) have a fake/plastic-y look and feel to them.

I am looking for a recommendation on a display case. My **** just sits out on my dresser collecting dust and my automatics go largely unworn because I usually just want to grab a watch a go instead of setting time and date.

I have three automatics and have my eye on at least one more so ideally it would have 4-6 auto winder spots and around ten spots total. Maybe something wall mounted or upright so I can step back and look at them instead of having to stand over the case looking down. Something with lighting would also be preferred.

I looked briefly and saw some options that are grossly overpriced. Hopefully you guys have some input here.

This is what you learn when you stop fapping to photos and actually go get some watches in your hands. Sometimes the most photogenic watch is horrendous in person, and sometimes a piece that's meh in pics is actually stunning.

IMO, under $10k go vintage. Over $10k is where the interesting new options are. The one exception is Nomos, they are a huge value but even they as of late have gone for weirder/larger designs.

I believe he has a few fakes, but does not post them here. Although, there's no way to tell some PAMs as they are almost identical to the real one.

Steve Aoki was playing at the Fountainebleu in Miami a few days ago and so many kids were dancing/raging with their AP and Rolex watches. Brb cake, sweat and alcohol everywhere including your $40k watch. nothxjeff.

Did you add them to your homeowner's/renter's insurance or opened a specific jewelry/watches policy? Been looking into this.

i bought a samsung fit 2, personally i think its great. personally i love smart watches. they are great for occasions where I dont want to get robbed but still want to wear an accessory and have some sort of style. like when i go on business trips to 3rd world countries.

when the applewatch was first announced, i hated the idea. but i realize they are not actually meant to replace a mechanical watch, since a mechanical watch is not used solely to tell time anyways. but i started to appreciate the function of it and the purpose it could serve.
