Meh my Suhr can just sit in its case while I enjoy the top tier guitar playing experience that the Charvel DK24 MIJ Rick Graham model affords me. None of you boyos know the sweet taste of a Charvel speed neck with stainless steel frets.

unsurprising, even Superman would go deaf upon listening to Cthulu's voice/SwimToTheMoon's vibrato.

absolutely not, those country dudes are in a different league. i'm quite happy calling myself a relatively competent rock/blues playing, but some of these brahs take it to a whole new level. pretty sure guthrie would even admit he'd get smoked at certain styles (high end jazz players, country players, acoustic players like Tommy Emmanuel)

actually that's a good point. what's your opinion on Tommy?

yeah digital gear really does cure GAS, but there will always be a place for tube amps imo. which I would love one day

Eh, he's obviously a stand out musician but his persona and his fingerstyle technique leaves me a bit cold. I don't pay him much mind but his abilities are clearly impressive.

I'm over super expensive boutique guitars like Suhr and Tom Anderson. I'm a Charvel guy for the time being. Maybe might move on to Jackson as I hear they have similar neck profiles.

Please report back on how you find Jacksons as I've had similar thoughts, also sounds pussy but I kinda want a lighter guitar too. Tempted with a esp shred machine but one without active pups, I always loved the plain black KH one (without skull inlays)

Just seems like a real workhorse guitar and one you wouldn't mind bashing around

It's fairly memorable but I like the solo and overall song Fight Fire With Fire much more. The harmonized part after the solo is chef's kiss.

Bro that video is 5 years old.. My vibrato is waaaaay worse now

So what's your ultimate opinion of the Axe-Fx? It looks like it beats the fuk out of any tangible amp/pedal set up in terms of sheer flexibility and an alterability over all the conceivable sounds. The combinatorial space for your signal chain is just absurd, like you could have even the most autistic audiophile and even he couldn't exhaust all the nuance.

Sometimes it seems too nuanced, like even if you spent years with it you wouldn't uncover all the details. But I've heard amazing tones out of it and even dorks farting into their computer chairs are producing album quality sound.

What is the reason you think you'll go digital now, the major selling point? FYI, Dom does both digital and physical pedal/amp setup too. Like what in the literal fuq, props to the dude's knowledge of this tech. It's the part of music I never really got, admittedly the technology was fledgling back when I was a new teen riffing in my bedroom with Epiphone.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

To be honest I'm not the right person to ask since I never cared about anything other than actually playing.. I don't know much about chit like gear or even setting up guitars.. Same with cars, don't know about engines, parts and models.. I just know that I love to drive whatever you put in front of me as long as it works.
Even back as a teen I had a line 6 gearbox and just used software but it was soooo fuking chit, sounded like ass.. Then I got the pod hd500x which is still the GOATest piece of guitar equipment ever invented but it was too powerful for me so I got the axe fx.. Maybe I'm just drawn to digital cause I'm a lazy kunt

You’re replying to a pathetic, compulsive liar who can’t even play guitar.

And lol at his sycophantic comments towards Dom. Lol Fraudy never fails to make himself look like a freak loser.

I'd like to put the challenge to you millennial digital nuthugging cucks. Who can get closest to an old 60s/70s Marshall?

I'm talking 60s plexi through 70s 1959 SLP / JMP 2203. Early AC/DC tone. No slick production like Youtuber shills with their fancy DAW plugins and double tracking that makes everything sound the same and no riding the volume knob — pick attack should go from clean to distorted with the kerrang of a nasty old Marshall. Just a phone recording playing power chords, riffs, blues, whatever you want. Who's in?

I want to see how close digital can get to this.

None of my guitars have the right pickup for that tone.

Here's a brief attempt using a stock plexi tone on the FM3 and I tried to futz with the controls but I suspect my bridge pickup is just way too hot to produce that sound, also not easy getting that kerrang sound.
For some reason the FM3 signal was clipping in my PC.
