In all seriousness, I'd be mad too if this game didn't work on PC. Just funny to me to see console users experiencing what we've gone through for decades. I still remember that Arkham Knight release. It was so damn bad that they ended up pulling it from steam to 'fix it'. And then it still ran like complete ass.

As much as I love the city I wish they added more building to go into. Like some casinos would have been cool, plus arcades, etc

You’re not supposed to be able to buy everything in the game 5 days after it releases…

HOW tf! 200k? I'm still in act 2 lol, barely done the story apart from the meeting at the cafe with you know who …. I've been doing as as much gigs as I can, although I havnt done many side gigs because there's not much there for me atm. I loot all the places, sell off all weapons and clothing I dont need. Even got the perks that let me get 100% money from hacking and I always aim for the third slot for max rewards.

Yes fair enough, but does this game have radiant quests? Are they the random beat downs and the ncpd events that happen?

Also, I have the perk that breaks down junk into crafting parts. Selling crafting parts adds up really fast. (Haven't bothered crafting anything yet since every 2-3 hours I'm picking up better gear anyway.)

I've only got like 45k but I break down everything for crafting parts and have bigass stockpiles of that so I guess I could sell it off. Also I think you can make guns n' shiet then sell them and rack up dollarydoos that way

I haven't done any implant stuff at ripper docs either, forgot about it lmao. Not paying back the OG ripper doc though, fuk that

Haven't done any hacking shiet either, I just use the distract enemies one when needed

Yep got that as well …. Ahh ok, I'm saving my crafting parts because I do craft ammo for my shotty and I plan on crafting/upgrading guns eventually …. Still waiting for a rare/iconic/legendary shotgun that I can craft. Even bought the legendary operating system that allows me 10 cyberdecks and 10 ram slots or something iirc.

But I need to get another 45k to get the second leg enhancement …. The economy needs a serious rework or they need to give us higher payouts because brb trying to buy everything + the cars will be impossible.

Man some of these "question" marks on the map is so good lol, come across funny random little missions. These are basically the "mysteries" from AC Valhalla. brb side quests and "mysteries" …. meanwhile AC counts these as sidequests lmao.
Keep in mind before spending another $45k that you can only have one leg mod at a time, so you can't have both high jump and double jump

The missile is underwhelming unless I'm not using it properly. It has unlimited ammo but you seemingly can't aim it – every now and then I'd shoot the ground or object near by and kill myself via the explosion

Nanowire is cool so far but just picked it up last night

lmao, thats the first thing I did. He's good people, so i saved all my money until I could repay him and I hate having a debt over me anyway lol

^ yep realised that when I went back into the store with 45k to buy it lol …. I'll keep the super jump, the double jump is useless. Ahh, I'll try out the nanowire.

I wish there were more buttons you could map to the controller. Hate having to use RB for grenades/cybernetic stuff.

I'd expect it to run at least as good as gta5, let alone rdr2 (cyberpunk looks and runs nowhere near as good as either of those two despite being a much more dumbed down game.)

This doesn't feel at all like a beta game to me on PC, I've played far buggier releases. The recent Borderlands 3 launch comes to mind, where my woman and I had to restart multiple times a night because areas would load without entire audio layers n chit

Can't even remember all the bugs now but we had to shelve the game because it was almost unplayable. I haven't needed to restart Cyberpunk once for bugs or glitches, most of what I've encountered has been minor graphical stuff

Saw one about a painting from a quest you can sell for 4k, then exit drop box, rebuy it for 5. But so far money has not been an issue, but I am 10 hours in and still haven't done 'The Heist'; smashing all the side stuff, been having fun with it.

Games like Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc. make this look like an amateur effort. Plenty of current gen games look and run way better than Cyberpunk, even ones made several years ago.

The real question is why hardware is struggling to run something that looks like it was made 5-8 years ago. Yeah, they may be trying to do things like bigger populations, ray tracing, etc but their implementation is so un-optimized that whatever they're tying to do is lost in translation. Not to mention the character models, movement, driving dynamics, gunplay, etc. are really nothing to write home about.

CDPR apparently has a high employee turnover and doesn't pay that much $, kind of a shiet company tbh.

Rockstar has it's own issues but by comparison is operating on a completely different level. It's more then the $ spent on the game (someone pointed out rdr2 and cyberpunk had similar ~110M budgets, idk if true). gotta have the talent, open world building experience and a stable employee base to build the game. Probably 60% of the cdpr budget was blown on marketing and advertising anyway.

granted they could have done better but to be fair performance is not just about graphics. there are so many systems at work simultaneously in the massive night city; its incredibly resource intensive, not just for the gpu.

We can talk optimization and such, but shouldn't performance largely boil down to math? And there should be some kind of mathematical reason (polygons n chit) for Cyberpunk being so much more demanding?

Ghost of Suhi, RDR2, and HZD are all expansive open-worlds with big empty fields and flatter terrain. When you compare that to Cyberpunk that is so dense, and I think the vertical density is a big part of it

I mean the screen is packed 100% of the time in Cyberpunk

i think it's just their whatever new engine they came up with. it was the same thing with the witcher 3. their hairworks engine chopped off like 20-30fps. until they optimized/fixed it

i'm not getting performance issues though, console thing? i had major performance and game-breaking issues with the witcher 3 that i dropped it for like a month or two, was so disappointed in it, think i even tried to refund it but i had like like 3-4 hours in already. i think everyone forgot about the stupid horse too lol took them a WHILE to fix the horse. think that didn't get fixed until at least couple months after. they kept patching the witcher 3 like months after. huge patches and fixes. idk if anyone remembered that. or did u guys all play the witcher 3 when it was out for like a year already

lol i remember those. geralt would be flippin on his horse

yea took them a while to get the witcher 3 to where it is today after release

I saw some turbonerd somewhere saying that cyberpunk is rendering buildings out of your sightline whereas GTAV is hyper-ruthless about only rendering what you can see.

Suggests inexperience.

I've been playing it a bit more and I still don't think it's all that great, but part of me not enjoying it is because everything is mapped out for me. Is there a way for side missions to be more of a surprise? Like, remove them from the map until I find them?

In any generation of graphics you have games like your Uncharted and Tomb Raiders that are essentially gimmicks of efficiency and don't have openness and are on rails so they can have better graphics to fit. Conversely you have games like Skyrim or AC where they have a lot of openness and depth but not the best graphics of the era and are more complex and buggy.

If you have an open world, then you can't fit as much into the box for graphics. If you go all graphics, you can't have room for the open world.

A game like Half Life Alyx famously creates the whole setting in one giant mesh that loads for a long time and then they use ultra high definition textures with the room they saved with efficiency.

So Cyberpunk is guilty of trying to combine both. Trying to fit too many things in the box, and when push came to shove, they chose graphics of the city over anything else including game features.

The thing about character models is that they scale up to an extreme level of quality. For example if I play a game like VAM even just one character model with max realism is enough to bring any card on the market to its knees. Just one rig.

But if you look at that rig its beyond 4k textures and hyper realism where you can see pores on the skin and the body parts look literally photo realistic, you can also move the body and it has full body physics so everything hangs and moves with proper gravity and inertia.

They even simulate breathing and idle movements and everything is running on red line. One step below CGI rendering.

So if they wanted to, they could bring down the whole system to its knees with just one character done at max fidelity.

Well obviously CP is somewhere a step below that high level but its also not skimping on the details and they have a lot of them on the screen at the same time. The character models are a step above even the older triple A games but still well below the maximum.

The point is the scale of potential quality is gigantic and they are somewhere higher on that scale than most other titles.

So if they are guilty, its because they tried to fit too much in the box and failed at making it optimized.

But that's not such a bad thing to fail at because they are pushing at the limits and stretching at the seams of what can be done with modern hardware.

In that context they aren't that bad, just ambitious. They should be encouraged to push the envelope, but get it done right.

One of the worst culprits is the Jail talking system which is janky and a step backwards in realism. In VAM they also have a audio text to mouth plugin but it works way better.

Some of the generic NPCs are basic but some are extremely high level, much higher than open world games can usually fit.

If you know modern loads, you'd know its impressive what they did fit and the quality to amount of bodies ratio is on the limit and beyond.

So the game actually IS extremely optimized, just not enough. I mean they fit a LOT of stuff into it.

Of course at this level of ambition, old consoles are a crutch and after thought. There was no way they were gonna turn those city graphics down for anyone or anything after they saw what it looks like in 4k lol.

Kinda feeling pistols right now. Shotguns seem kinda weak, but then I don't have points in them either.

What guns are you guys liking best?

Tech weapons will be cool after they're coming fixed and working properly. Mine will be working one firefight then not fire in the next.
