I'll follow you, bro.

IG and Flickr mainly. Recently I've been thinking about getting prints of some of my work done to hang on my empty-ass walls.

Agree with this 100%. I just tried typing out like 5 different responses but my brain is clearly too tired for that so I'll come back to this tomorrow with some thoughts.

Aaaaannnd something from Tuesday night. Went to a local beach looking for a good spot to shoot the sunset but got these instead. Got pretty lucky with how this situation unfolded and I quite like the results.

My A7III has been collecting dust the past few months. I've lost inspiration. I want to take landscape shots and there's almost nothing compelling in Florida besides the beach. Now the Rona is derailing things even further, smh.

Thought about doing any night/stars work with local landmarks or dope buildings? I haven't done much night sky stars work but I've got a few things I want to try when these clouds gtfo.

Picked up a real cheap Z mount DX 60mm macro for the Z6 for ~170. Excited to mess around with that a bit.

Alright boyos. The ocean is glowing neon blue. Ya'll got any tips or tricks on how to actually shoot this? I went out for about an hour to scope things out (packed as all hell at 10pm) but going to try to go out again later in the week, possibly later at night. The ISO performance is pretty much abysmal on the D3200 I have so I feel like this is going to be a real struggle.

Nice to see signs of life in this thread even if the current situation has thrown a spanner in the works for venturing out.

Without a full moon I can't see how you'll capture much without super high ISO. I'd experiment with light painting using a torch with a softer, wide beam and kind of skim it across during a longer exposure for an effect like this including the night sky and some of the beach.

Thanks. Yeah I think it's going to be tough. I need to find a better location too. It was so packed and so much light from cars, it was not only distracting but it dulled the colors even when just viewing.

Also, damn I think I need to calibrate my monitor at home. Those pics are infinitely darker on my work monitors. Can't see a damn thing.

Beaches are open for walking, swimming, etc. No setting up in one spot for the day though.

Lighting looks good. What was the setup? Might just be me, but I find her right hand being oof a bit distracting. I'd be interested to see the same shot stopped down a little. Not sure if you cloned out anything in the doorway or on the frame, but I would consider getting rid of the white label with text on the box behind her.

it was 85mm 2.2 at 1/640.
Was a spur of a moment kind of grab, and I liked it; wasn't interested in doing much editing to this one.

Been shopping for monitors all morning. Built a new computer a couple weeks ago because photoshop and lightroom running at the same time killed it. The darkness of those pics was a real motivator but I'm due for an update anyways. Not a damn thing in stock anywhere though. Found these two that seem to get good reviews after digging around. The lower end has 8bit color vs 10bit (8+FRC) for the higher priced one. Worth the extra money for the 10bit option when it comes to photo editing? Was looking at these two as they are marketed as hybrids and I've been messing around with a bit of gaming during the lockdown. Down for some recommendations too.

Decided to head out last minute and see how the sunset was going to unfold last night. Turned out pretty sweet but I got there a bit late and was rushed getting setup. Wasn't until I got home that I realized my camera was still in DX mode from playing around with my cheapo macro lol.

The botanical gardens opened up today to the public. Thought I'd try and challenge myself with my nifty fifty by ONLY shooting at f/1.8

Never again, misc. Just too much potential for screw ups

I don't think the concept is a bad idea. I would probably venture into something more like candid street photography rather than trying to focus on such small objects.

I followed your advice and hit the pavement today - walked around Corpus Christi and made a few choice shots. Every pic was 1/4000 sec and iso 100 (the sun was shining straight down as strong as ever). My last f/1.8 challenge

USS Lexington behind this statue

Corpus also has a Selena statue. I believe her assassination was 25 years ago just last month.

Don’t get it twisted, I went to Sunday’s protest in DTLA to see if any chit would go down (my building actually got smashed on the ground floor the previous night). I will say, this dude who was leading the march was really cool. He had great control of the crowd and a great message. At every stop he reiterated that they were there for peace, not for violence, not for vandalism, not for looting, not for hate. For peace. That said, in that group of 300 or so, there were dozens of degenerates mouthing off about fukk da poh lease, Dey bitch ass nuggaz, and just being angry. Anyways thought this was a decent shot

Forgot to swap lenses so went out with my 85mm 1.2 smh…

Anyone here into interior real estate photography? I’m getting mixed results and honestly haven’t really “felt” anything I’ve been taking. Here is what’s currently going on for me:

Camera: Canon 6D MKII
Lens: Canon 17-40L
Process: Multiple exposure stacking (usually 5 pics at 1 stop difference in either direction)
Post Process: Take to PS and merge to HDR (note, not doing typical HDR, just for the layering and then adjust levels and color etc), and then finally straighten all lines.

I’ve only been shooting during day time, as I cannot figure out doing a light “painting” with a flash rig to save my life. I feel like the stuff I see that stands out to me for the most part are ones that are taking during the daytime, but are 100% using flash painting. Like even this guy:

And a more obvious use for night time

Any tips/tutorials/etc? I’m actually considering hitting up people on Redfin or zillow with chit tier pics and offer to take some for free, just for experience.
